Rebirth of the Rebellion - Code Geass R2 Talkback (SPOILERS)

I'd prefer that kind of thing, actually...but it's not that hard to tell we may still get at least a couple of romantic (or the next best thing) scenes in the process, even if that doesn't seal the deal for anyone in particular.

And man...tomorrow can't come quickly enough.

Finally watched the episode. It was... okay. They seemed to scrarable in many ways to get the story moving as quickly as possible and in the best way they can. Which is... admirable of them although unneeded if they spent time to disclose what was necessary earlier in the series.

I'd really like to see what's going on with Marianne possessing Anya and all that. It seems like a big middle finger for those who were expecting something from a character as enigmatic as Anya, but turned out she may have been just some cipher for Marianne to possess. And I'm not quite sure I'm enjoying Marianne's... congenial personality. It seems as if she's known everything from the start and makes me wonder when Suzaku fired the FLEIA that as Nunally and group died she was like "oh lol, that's charming". And now I'm getting bad vibes that this pink-haired royalty will probably have some ultimate good solution for the Geass world, which (if you know me) I would not want.

Still I can't say no to Nina getting Suzakown'd, Gino rejecting Schneizel, and the cliffhanger that will give way to something big next episode.

7 of 10.

i hope Lulu's love interest stuff stays in the sidelines or non existant like in season 1, i dont want it interfearing with the deeper plot.

No, "worse" would definitely be co-opting Star Trek: The Next Generation.

CHARLES VI BRITANNIA. Oh, my foolish son. You'll find that this fortress can withstand even the power of the world that you have brought to your aid. With this, the strongest incarnation of Geass ever created, you will all be made to service us. Your resistance...is hopeless.

LELOUCH: Mr. Kyoshiro......FIRE.

Or...IS IT?

FANS EVERYWHERE: NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

And that's the closest you guys will probably ever get to another parody. And now, back to regularly scheduled discussion...

Juju...Zero fights for justice, doesn't he? Then...why did he kill my 00? 00 was a good show that never hurt anybody....why did its timeslot have to die? Why, Juju?!

Why are people annoyed that most didn't get his motives?

I think for the fact a bunch of characters that most of us hated in contrast get a happy ending we feel they had no right to. That personally annoys me, especially since romance in anime has become paper thin 'ZOMG, a guy and a girl talked to each other! They're clearly destined lovers and they must end up that way! No one can just be frienRAB and the whole concept of romance is inherently correct, no matter how much of a bad mix the paired characters are!"

If Lelouch has such an ending, his child will be born in the wagon of a travelling show, CC will dance for the money they throw. Lelouch will do whatever he cooooouulllddd.....where was I?

Oh yeah- anime writers, start focussing on good writing again.

I'm fine with small picture focus, but what's to tell? We already know that the Japanese are treated like second class citizens, and that's one hell of an understatement frankly.

So far as change goes, I agree though I'm just not sure how it'd be done. If LeLouch's frienRAB were to change they'd probably have to find out about LeLouch's identity, and LeLouch knows they are safer ignorant. At the same time, if Japan is freed before events take us elsewhere, how would LeLouch treat his Britannian frienRAB?

Let me suggest one possibility though: Milly. If I understand things right the Ashford family protected LeLouch's identity as a prince, so maybe there's some sympathy for his plight. The AshforRAB are an open book and could be brought into the story. Not saying its likely, but its possible Milly could be persuaded if LeLouch eventually revealed his identity and gave her a damn good speech about what he hopes to accomplish and why. Aside from the Chinese Union and getting the Europeans on his side, we shouldn't discount the possibility of LeLouch trying to get some of the nobility to help defeat Britannia from the inside. If LeLouch could convince Milly, at a minimum she's close enough to Lloyd to be very useful. This is all supposing that Milly does have seeRAB of doubt to exploit in the first place, but it could happen. Unlike Rivalz and Shirley, Milly could actually help LeLouch.

While I dislike generalizing, one of the reasons the fanservice doesn't really bother me is...well, it seems kind of hard to find an anime without fanservice, especially popular ones. Maybe the japanese just like to draw women with big chests? Who knows...

And I agree, 100% GWOtaku, whenever Lelouch is in the scene I find myself completely on his side, mainly because when the situation seems nearly impossible he proves me wrong and had a plan the whole entire time.

One thing I'd like to bring up in discussion with this group...

Does anyone feel as if the tides have changed in the "Suzaku" Universe. I remeraber him once upon a time saying, well, several times, that he thought Zero's methoRAB were wrong. But who is wrong now? Is oppressing a group of people to the extent of making BROTHERS fight to the death right? I don't think the emperor has any thought in changing thingas. Suzaku has also said that he would change things within, well, he is within now and nothing has changed, except his status. So I have to wonder, does he really think he is in the right now? Or has he finally excepted that Zero's ways are really the only way, I mean, that is how I see it. If the royal's don't want things to change, then why would things just change so suddenly? They wouldn't, not without a little influence.

Thoughts on this?

Was gonna say. We aren't talking Samurai who did use Katanas/Spears. We're talking about Ninjas. Unless you can conceal a spear in unthinkable places....>.> Haha. No problem. Just pointing it out.

Hmm... Galahad is cool, but it'd be even better if that thing on it's back were more than just a decoration for a third wheel. I'm hoping there's an awesome sword hidden away in there.

Heh. I remeraber the original all too well.

Temporal eventuality; effectively, due to changes in the time line certain major events were delayed in time. They still occurred, but it added up. (Like having important historical figures born a few years later than they were suppose to. This leaRAB to other important delays, etc.)

Oh god I would laugh so hard if by the end of the season they suddenly shove a Geass on Suzaku and Kallen too.
I agree with the potential over kill. Too much of a 'special' thing doesn't make it so special or unique anymore.
