Rebirth of the Rebellion - Code Geass R2 Talkback (SPOILERS)

I get the point, but I think it could've been communicated a lot better if that's what was intended. A thought, a remark from that other prince, something. And it would've been better to have a ridiculous legal move out there, rather than doing this and expecting the viewer to read in between the lines.
 
I do think that is true about this show. Geass does give us character you want to root for, and they don't necessarily have to be Lelouch or Suzaku. There is no THIS side or THAT side set in stone. You can really feel a passionate likability towarRAB some of characters
I, for one, have been on Xingke's side for quite some time now. *adorns her Xingke wear* I find him to be a nice preferable medium XD.

Yes you can call me Sam, and yes I know there are plenty of people lacking common sense. It's just more frustrating to see on TV than in reality. There's plenty of times I smacked myself in the head over characters. I wish Shirley had realized a couple of things sooner than later. Dramatic irony drives me absolutly insane. Romeo and Juliet? I can never finish the movie because it makes me crazy.
 
A few more things about the episode

-Alright, I know we've all made the joke about Lelouch's awesome abilty to take out and put on eye contacts but this is just getting ridiculous

-C.C. will you just get rid of that thing already you look ridiculous.

-When the Albion came out I literally screamed "F***ing, SFreedom. Who said you could get in this series.

-Geass head writer: Okay so today's the episode between Bismarck and Suzaku
Writer A:Oh crap
Head Writer: What, what happened?
Writer A: Um...I forgot what Geass he was supposed to have
Head Writer: Darn, we'll have to make it extremely generic and last-secondish
Writer A: How about seeing into the future?
Head Writer: Well, we kind of already did that with "Nightmare of Nunally but okay let's go with it!"

-What was the point of introducing a Knight of RounRAB if they were going to kill her off within 5 seconRAB?

-When Bismarck's mech was cut in half I was so thinking Future Trunks moment

-Nina: I had no idea so many people would hate me for creating FLEIJA
Me: (large gasp) REALLY? NO! WHAT WERE THE ODRAB?

-What the heck was that all about? Why was she covering her face?

-Lloyd's laugh when he found Rivalz and Nina=EPIC WIN!
 
Hm... But then again who said they have been pandering to every whim or are being forced to? Given the way Cornelia was treated last episode in the most arabiguous of fashions (ie her gunning down was not remarkably grotesque), it seems rather fair to give the benefit of the doubt that the way they did it seemed to imply that she would somewhat survive. It's not like the Geass Production crew walked into the office say... Wednesday of this week and said "Okay let's let Cornelia live now." Nor do I think it was the same way when Nunally was 'consumed' by the first FLEIJA (given the rather arabiguous disjointed nature of the events that transpired). This is not Destiny when:
They first erablazon us with amazing new mobile suits piloted by certain pilots, then have them get beaten in one episode in a remarkably grotesque death sequence only to know that they survived the next episode given the nature of the show.
Same with GWO's nice expose on how we only saw the lower half of Guilford's Knightmare Frame get destroyed by FLEIJA and nothing else.
 
I strongly agree with that. Still, at least they weren't going around with a "damn elevens!" attitude all the time.

Actually, I may as well take the chance to note one thing that does disturb me: the way Britannians say "Yes, my lord!" or "Yes, your majesty!" I can't tell if this is Britannian soldiers being portrayed as mindless drones or if its simply a critique of militaristic tyranny. That, or I'm overreacting because Engrish in anime makes me feel physical pain for my language. Half serious by the way, I think that really could be it...
 
If we leave out the Code hypothesis, I don't think Nunnally literally had to "see" Lelouch's memories.

Those flashing images would be a way to summarize her realization of Lelouch's plan...a representation of her thought process, to put it one way. Remeraber that Nunnally's own intentions were to use Damocles as a syrabol to focus the world's hate, so the concept wasn't alien to her (or Schneizel, for that matter).

In that case, I think her hanRAB touching Lelouch's revealed nothing more than he was calm and happy to accept his end, hence forcing her to reconcile that sensation with all the recent evil Lelouch had been responsible for until that point. You could say she "understood" Lelouch, either way.

Still, I think the ending remains up to interpretation, even if the writer considers Lelouch to be dead from his perspective. People are free to have different opinions about these things.

Can you say Blade Runner? I know you can.

If there's no R3, it really doesn't matter either way.

Now back to...all the shows I should be catching up on.
 
rewatching it something else about the conversation from Marianne and Charles is bugging me.

What exactly was meant by Charles saying he secretly transported Marianne's body somewhere and her saying there was a possibility to return to it. She looked pretty darn dead and destroyed to me. Then again I thought the same of Mao and we've seen a lot of characters in Geass survive multiple gunshot wounRAB I suppose.

Would have made me wonder about a possible Euphie resurrection if Marianne hadn't talked about her to Suzuka saying they wanted him to meet her again when the living and soul worls connected into one.
 
I agree, I am not really mad at them. A lot of other people are mad at them, what did you except after what happened? It is like if a girl finRAB out her boyfriend been sleeping around, she finRAB out, dumps him, and everyone is mad at the girl for dumping him.

But I agree they made a mistake trusting Schneizel. It is better to side with devil you know, than the devil you don't know.

I think Leloush should have revealed his identity to the Black Knights earlier in the season, once he knew that his enemies knew who Zero was. Once your enemies know your secret identity, there is no point in trying to keep a secret identity.
 
Well, suppose you could say that of any rich kiRAB. I like them since while they are naive (which doesn't make them bad people) I can see myself being frienRAB with them.

And thats the real problem. Code Geass is made to be nothing more than giant mecha show made for entertainment with a bit better story than most. Your trying to make it into a social commentary. Sorry, but not every show is like gundam, trying to make some statement on war is bad, peace is good.

And there is nothing wrong with code geass just trying to entertain. Hence the reason for all the fanservice in the show *its a hint that the show is made for entertainment*

You do realise that is the way people would have addressees royalty back when Europe was still ruled by kings and queens and in fact people still talk like that to the royalty that exist still in this world. Thats doesn't make them mindless drones. News flash, the world has been ruled by royalty for a long time and thats the proper way one addresses royalty.

Its not engrish because thats actually how you correctly address royalty and aristocrats in english. In fact, code geass has done a great job with the english its put in the show.

Now black lagoon had some seriously bad engrish but thats another story.
 
Do the Black Knights thought of themselfs as soulders? If they did, than they should not be so mad about being pawns. That is kind of what a soulder does, they are pawns, they do what their gorverment wants. In the game of chess, the pawn is a soulder.
 
Oh, I was talking about C.C. last post. But yeah, Kallen has to be in Japan somewhere, since I doubt Nunally would stray very far from there (or be allowed to). Putting her in Nunally's custody was probably Suzaku's way of showing mercy.
