Rebirth of the Rebellion - Code Geass R2 Talkback (SPOILERS)

Really, the royal heirs were never presented as truly "evil" people. Clovis, Cornelia, Euphemia, Schneizel all were shown to be more than black and white characters. Euphia even provide she wasn't as timid a character as we all thought.

The true villain of the series is the emperor and the some of the soldiers are presented as being racist. But this is not surprising, Code Geass is not set in the present world were we have leaders like martin luther king jr. fighting for equal rights. The only faction that supports equal rights is the EEU. So its not surprise that racism would be rampant in the empire.



Hey, I like me some fanservice. And this comment from someone who always comements on the bushis she loves.

But this is code geass talkback so no need to start a debate on which show is better. I'll just say I find code geass to have better action, character development, mecha, storyline, suspense etc...

But in truth both shows are good and in the end its a subjective opinion on which is better. I prefer Code geass, enough said.
 
She has reverted to a 10 year old, that isn't being a ditz, that is being clueless as to the situation. I think this is really going to test Lelouch, because he made a promise to her and I hope that he keeps it. Stop assuming they can't handle these situations, they have shown they can handle many things incredibly well, just because some fanservice pops up doesn't mean it destroys the show, and this isn't GSD at all.
 
Yeah I can't believe how huge this thread has gotten. And it's only the first episode!

I wonder if this thread will be bigger than the SSBB speculation thread which I think was the biggest one for rabroad

Somehow, I get the feeling I'm a lucky man to have not watched GSD. It seems to have scared those who have watched it.
 
It's a joke. That much should've been obvious. However, it's a fairly common joke and there's actually speculation on 2ch that she really is a ninja.
 
I think, as usual, a problem for any anime is how generic the OPs usually are. Most anime OPs tend to run togethor and it takes alot to really make it feel like part of the show. Alot of shows, especially manga adaptations, seem fine just have a different song every 20 or so episodes with minimal work on the visual side. There's various visuals we see alot (eg a new character/mecha represented as a sinister shadow), so the staff should make the effort to really make these elements flow togethor. Going back to the 00 OP, Ash Like Snow visually showed one of the big arcs that kicked off that portion of the show. I think all OPs should try and have some basic narrative to them, not just random flashing of characters and gimmicks.
 
I kindof think he did for ironic purposes, that a mere noble reduced to commoner status and his Honorary Britannian citizen student friend can outlast and defeat the regal nobility and its ostentatious wiles.

Ugh... it's such a bother to try to watch this show by the usual means. So I really hope the first season doesn't borab on Adult Swim because I want this dubbed sooner rather than later.

Rollo is a bit of a crazy isn't he? But that power he has certainly would come in handy.

Lulu is caught in a tough spot. He wants Britania to pay for their crimes past and present and for twisting the lives of the people he cares about but he can't do much in his current position if he wants them to believe he still doesn't remeraber his past. It's going to make his situation even more difficult than it was in the first season... and incidently that makes great television.
 
But then again if Geass did that, producing an entire boxset of pure comedy episodes, I don't think it would sell as well as Fumo did, nor produce the same reaction. I loved Fumo and I can't say I'd like the same if it was done again by a different show. The Geass characters aren't built to interact that way, where as those in FMP already had a string of 'good' hilarity in them [while still following up with a fully compelling and serious episode]. I can't see Suzaku walking across the beach with a shotgun like I can see Sousuke. There's only a few moments in the Ashford episodes that I think are mildly funny, but then again that's only my opinion. I'm not saying I detest and want to ban all comedy from Geass, I just think that they are better off sticking to the more serious action instead of devoting entire episodes towarRAB Lulu running around in a funny hat trying to avoid girls.
 
I have a lot to say and that'll take time, but that's not really true:

Kallen pretty clearly saw through it at the end. Nunally learned the truth when she saw Lelouch's memories after touching him. Todoh definitely knew that "Zero" was really Suzaku. He recognized his movements and was going to say something, at which point he was cut off by Kallen.

So that's three people right there that know exactly what he was up to. It's possible, I suppose, that Lloyd and Cecile and Nina also know. What nobody knew, I think, was that Lelouch was capable of reviving and planned to disappear after the accomplishment of his plan.
 
Correct. It's not a true gem in the sense that it was a pure, shining gem of excellence. The end of the day I find that the luster will still be there, the polish still present, but at the same time Geass will be a gem rough around the edges. And overall that's okay with me.

I am truly going to miss the series, warts and all. The first season may have set in the running for the gold, but the second season at least was not bad enough that I would have to disqualify them of at least the bronze at most.
 
Maybe Lelouch grew as a character and went from only seeking revenge to actually fighting for the Japanese. The Reset we got with season 2 actually makes sense if you look at it that way since there was no way that Lelouch would change at the end of season 1 if he didn't lose his memory and have to rethink his situation in season 2. If he had won the black rebellion I'm not sure he would have changed from his vindictive obsession. I guess he has to thank the emperor for this one. Lelouch had to face his inner demons before he could grow as a character. Isn't that a staple of storytelling.

I get the feeling they planed the whole comaping Nunnaly with Euphy in Zero's mind since last season.
