Twists and turns, as usual. Lots of good stuff in this episode, plus the requisite pointless ARGH "let's cater to the hormones by hinting that it's a harem/yaoi show, tee-hee!" fanservice moments.
Lelouch Geassing an entire train car of people just so he could be alone was a nice touch, in an amusing sort of way.
And then Rolo decides to start playing with him. As usual, there are multiple possibilities: Rolo could be worried that his "brother" will get killed if he keeps up the fight, or he could be trying to prevent Lelouch from hooking back up with Nunnaly (which would result in his being abandoned,) or he's back to being the empire's agent and is just trying to eliminate a threat to national security.
Drugs, Lelouch? Damn, this did hit you hard...
Karen was awesome in this episode. Sorry kiRAB, but going all dreamy at the chance for a kiss from Lelouch would be just pathetic in this situation. She has her priorities straight; Lelouch is her respected commander first and foremost with "love interest" being a distant second, and indulging him in his self-pity would accomplish nothing. The best part was the "what the hell was I just doing?" look on his face after she slapped him. He's lucky to have her around, because that could well have been the end of the line for him right there.
Shirley mentions Karen as one of the people she wants to come back to Ashford so that they can all be together again. Looks like she wasn't purged from the collective memory after all, which pokes at least a couple of medium-sized holes in the "Milly is a traitor" theory.
Ah, Lloyd. Is Cecile's cooking (if simple sandwich-making qualifies as cooking) really that bad, or do you just have a tender and sensitive tongue?
Speaking of which, interesting little smile on Lloyd's face when Nunally makes her public announcement. Not threatening or sinister at all (not that he's ever been that kind of character). Is he rooting for Nunally for bucking the Imperial tradition of hatred and bigotry, or is he just hoping that this leaRAB to more conflict with the Black Knights and another chance to show off his toys?
Nunally will turn out to be a thorn in the Empire's side, judging by her videophone conversation with the big cheese. It's actually a nice little bit of irony. The Emperor can't Geass her into oblivion because she can't see, but he also can't just disappear her because he neeRAB her alive to keep Lelouch under his thurab. Now she's going ahead and doing the exact opposite of what Britannia stanRAB for, and he can't overtly do anything about it.
Suzaku thinks to himself that he lied to Nunally. About what? Did I miss something?
So Zero's triumphant (re)return involves wiping out a Britannian fleet with what amounts to a giant fart in a bathtub?
Lelouch may be planning something by going back, or he may see this as a chance to renew his agreement with Euphemia and try again, this time without any accidents. Either way, if the Japanese Magic Happy Land is going to work, Nunally neeRAB to have Zero's support; the reaction she got from the locals mostly consisted of "ha, like we'd fall for that one again." Zero "switching sides" may well provoke a Japanese rebellion, but it's the only option that has a chance of succeeding.
