Rebirth of the Rebellion - Code Geass R2 Talkback (SPOILERS)

So, I'm going to suggest in the strongest possible terms that people DO NOT read that spoiler. Don't talk about it, don't look for it. You'll thank me later. In fact, Rob, maybe you should just ax it.

As for parodying, it likely isn't going to happen every week. It got started as a way to get some fun out of some of the weaker content, once some of us had our say about how it sucks. Throw in some general humor and some mocking of the fandom and various little pet peeves I don't like, and presto. But if an episode is grade A awesome, I probably won't feel inspired to try making a joke out of it. And I won't do it if it means reusing the same jokes--seriously, I have one joke for Todoh and that's it (I'm too cool for this show!) Ultimately, I'm looking for a productive thread, and the parody stuff was just a means to an end. It's not a project, and not an obligation...though I'm glad people seem to like it.

Too bad it doesn't exactly feel like it when I'm watching. I hated the path the show took awhile back and it just keeps going deeper and deeper. This started out like a regular mech series with some scifi elements, but basically two factions at war. Now it's Geass here Geass there alternate-dimension around the corner, oh watch out for that emperor. I'm just unhappy about alot of the decisions that have been made. The series jumps from one extreme to another.

That's everyone's dream my friend.

And at least she was crying over her death (but then again, she cries if you even mention anything pertaining to Euphy)

Aww, Lulu is sad because his mecha toy is broken. Time for Lulu to get a new mecha toy.

Lelouch vi Brittania- the most wanted terrorist in the world, Iron Chef. (thank you that anime blog)

The great traitor begins his quest to wipe out all freedom in the world.

And next eppy:

back to the action

That's the thing- I do respect other's opinions and I'm not claiming my own is the truth at all. I'm just annoyed with certain individuals who get very personal and nasty if you aren't just offering praise and so start pointing the finger. I always do my best to back up my opinion with a rational argument and I know that ultimately it is only my opinion. We're all going to like different things and acknowledging and discussing that is half the fun. Opinions don't have to mirror for it to be a good discussion- two people can have completely different opinions but as long as it's kept civil you have the makings of a great discussion. It's certainly more interesting than another case of 'Yeah, me too'.

Briefly- my comment on character death doesn't mean I'm saying characters are killed off in the story when they're no longer marketable. I'm referring to the fact that in my opinion the show exists only to milk fans for money whilst it airs, with no real concern for rewatchability. It's one of the reasons (again) why I'm comparing it to Destiny, another Sunrise show which had many elements in its treatment similar to Geass.

meh, the fact that Lloyd finaly hit puberty and is engaged is a miracle i never saw coming, i thought for sure hed end up as a single mad scientist with a robotic super child. Il say this, he has excelent taste (DID YOU SEE HER, GIGITY GIGITY GO).

I think the long black haired chinese guy will end up with the litle empress girl in the end. I dont like that, probably because of my dislike of anything loli.

Odyseus is the most generic looking noble ive ever seen in my life.

finaly, i dont understand what Lelouch is thinking, how exactly is kidnaping the empress going to help him in the end. Sure if she marries Odyseus then Brittania/Chinese relations will be great and the Black Knights in jeopardy, but doing THIS will only make the chinese hate the Black Knights and make things way more difficult, its practicaly a declaration of war!

I wouldn't go so far as that, right now it's more like a semi hydroplaning on a treacherous mountain path on its way to the gas station at the top. Whether or not it crashes and burns is left to how they resolve the final episode.

^^Well, he's definitely one of us now. Welcome to the thread Lelouch.

So, is R2 to Code Geass what Destiny was to Seed? Or is that going a little too far.

Oh, that. yeah well. I though it was funny but...Ok you got a point. I didn't post the full quote that the blog was saying that code geass is one of the best animes because of fanserivce. Thats why it was funny. I mess the quote up. Sorry.

Well at least we know that more than likely C.C. will be using it for practical reasons and not running out into battle and then bawling and acting OOC.

Geass R2- The Sam Edit:

Lelouch: "It feels like there's another memory hidden in my mind. Maybe if I just concentrate and...oh...oh no!"

*flasrabroadack to Lelouch and Suzaku lieing next to each other in bed. Both wear shocked looks and are rather sweaty*

Suzaku: "....We can never tell Nunnally..."
Lelouch: "...Agreed..."

I'm wondering- if they've fled to China...how are they going to resolve Kallen's plot? The whole thing with her family, her biological mother and the Refrain? They said they'd moved all that to season 2 but looking at things I don't see any way that can work. Have they really given up on Kallen being an actual character?

Actually, lulu would know Kallen from school but he forgot about her being a part of the rebellion. Maybe lulu just didn't recgonise her as odd as that seems. After all, no one else at the school realize that redhead Black Knight was the same kallen they knew in school and they would have seen her on T.V.

How would the emperor know about Kallen? He wouldn't so she could have remain a minor acquaintance at school while kallen made frienRAB with the rest of the student councel like Milly.

I know thats weak but at least its as weak as lulu sweet talking Rolo into not killing him.

Oh, Odysseus did in fact say that. We have no idea what that means but heres hoping she is alive. It would mean there also a good chance that my percious ninja maid is alive as well.

Alright, my thoughts on the episode...

You know, I am happy that Suzaku has finally come to a resolve, it may be a crappy one, to follow Schneizel, but hey, it is better than him wavering back and forth all the time. Bismark is a total badass, he seems to have a Geass, too bad it is sealed due to his eye. But the fact that Suzaku's 'Live' Geass activated due to him even walking up to him is awesome. I felt bad for Monica, she was losing soldiers and didn't even know why. Anya is Marianne? I actually enjoy the way they did that, as long as it can be explained well. C.C. getting her memories back? Heck yes. I am so happy about this, I was worried that she wouldn't. When Lelouch appeared at the island, he just looked so awesome, I am so happy he finally got his crap together. When the knightmares lined up it sent tingles down my spine. Not to mention, his confrontation with the Emperor built up the next episode well. I'm glad Gino has some sense, I don't trust Schneizel, not one bit. And poor Kaguya =(

Oh and...new summary for episode 22, and it is VERY interesting.

From CompAce
Britannia Empire vs. SFN. Will the conflict continue in the world split between two extremities? Knowing the truth, Lelouch begins to walk on the path of thorns as the/a new Emperor.

Yay.
