well, to be really frank, we don't have a declared national language here. thus, the most of us who happen to speak english are really frustrated when our markedly american monolinguism makes it more and more difficult to speak with our compatriots.
really.
if we had a declared national language, i could take a different stance; until we do, i have to accept that there will be non-english-speaking americans and that the fact that i only speak languages is MY handicap, not other people's.

now, on a side note, wendy's might not be a fun job, but imagine being the guy who gets paid to give invalids sponge baths. or if that doesn't suck enough, imagine being the guy whose job it is to professionally clean blood/bile/body parts out of anyone's private property (cars, rooms, etc) for "California Emergency Services, Inc."
and imagine getting yelled at by your boss by not doing it well enough or quickly enough when you want to puke just being in the same room as it, much less being on your hands and knees wiping it up.
*shudder*
regardless, look for a better job ;]
