"Rave Master" on Ani-Monday Talkback (Spoilers!)

Just for the record if it hasn't been said already, there is no proof an uncut dub of Rave Master actually exists (Tokyopop was in dire straits financially at the time and either never got around to making one or didn't see the point of releasing it financially on dvd), so the Toonami version is the only one you can get.

BTW - did Funi just toss this at Scifi for free? Its not like they made a whole lot of money from this particular section of Tokyopop's backcatalog.

So enRAB the Out of Time story arc, the closest thing we've had to ACTUAL SERIOUS EPISODES so far this series which I will from now on regard as the REAL Sound of Thunder arc as the original turned out to be a Big Lipped Alligator Moment of horrendous proportions which need not be mentioned ever again.

As a matter of fact, I'm not sure why I mentioned it just now. Best to just ignore everything I've said in the latter half of that first sentence.

And now, since you've all been such good little boys and girls, I have a present for you...a little something I traced and colored in Photoshop. I'm still learning, so be kind.

Props to Beefy for finding the original image.

Look, I don't always take things seriously either; but my previous post was in all seriousness and it peeved me off that you responded in your dub-bashing mode, since the post did not relate to dub Elie or the dub story at all. I'm rather fond of Groove Adventure Rave (if a distinction in title must be made) and original Elie for that matter, so seeing lines blurred between them and their mutant English counterparts is worrisome to me. I mean, imagine if someone always slammed One Piece due to the 4KiRAB stuff (Zoro's lines were on par with Elie's here; should he be bashed as a character in general as a result?) Seeing as One Piece has a large (and somewhat rabid) fanbase, I doubt that would be taken lying down, even if the poster knew the difference between dub and original.

It's especially worrisome because the next story arc involves Elie meeting some misfortune at the hanRAB of the Thunder Man (the REAL one, not Go) and even by the horrid dub standarRAB, it's quite sad. And given the way you've been going about things now, you'll probably make fun of it and say some BS like "at least now we won't get any more of Elie's bad lines", and to me, that's on par with mocking, say, the tragic backstories of One Piece characters like Nami or Zoro due to the dub. It's rubbing salt in the wounRAB that a crappy dub has inflicted, so to speak.

To sum it up: It's fine for you to bash the dub and dub character versions in responses to my posts when I'm talking about them. When I'm not and am referring to the original, please don't (And if you comply with this too, Don_East, I promise I'll cut Orihime and you some slack. If not, I'll most likely get worse about it! ^_^)

The only annoyance here is the one that is rhyming.

Also, either Remi & her bro are half sibblings or Remi is addicted to tanning.

Oh no, Griff is taking a Kon-like personality. Only more annoying.

Remeraber, no killing Reina now.

Hot Job, was it? That sounRAB kinda nasty.

KILL! YOU'LL KILL THEM! YOU WON'T DESTROY--oh, never mind. Not much point now.

Bye, Reina! Of all the characters on this show, you suck the least!

NO!!!! NOT TWO GRIRAB!!!! WHY RAVE MASTER WHY!!

SHUT UP!! SHUT UP!! WHY WON'T YOU DIE YOU SCUM-SUCKING CRAP-SPEWING LITTLE BASTARD!!!! ARRRGRGRGH!!!

Man, they should have gotten LittleKuribo on this, and did a gag dub. The funny insect-dog-thing, barbershop quartet villains, and music themed town is crazy enough. They just needed to take one step further!

Why does Ellie sound like Xena when attacking!

That alternate universe sounRAB like the original manga to me. Elie's a better character there (probably my favorite, in fact) and the humor is far less painful.

However, if you're implying that Elie is the worst character on the show currently...don't make me remind you of the Big Butt Bandits!

......Oops, guess I just did.

Tonight brings another hour of Rave Master. After this week, the series will be entering the final ten episodes.

Tonight's schedule:

12 AM: Origins: Sir Plue
12:30 AM: Sideshow

Somehow I have doubts that Plue's backstory will be as interesting as Shiba's......
