"Rave Master" on Ani-Monday Talkback (Spoilers!)

Hey now, put the hammer down, G-Dub. The only thing we bash here is the dub and that's justifiable. The fact I did a "Boot To The Head" reference makes that I wasn't really bashing my apprentice.


Okay, that was funny. Why can't Tom Kenny lend his voice to this instead of Buchholz's wall banger of a script? I mean, Rave Master has quite a few talented voice actors involved, including one the biggest mainstream VAs in the animation world. And all this wasted because the guy writing this felt like adding lame jokes like Elie wanting to form a band and some twit talking about french class. But, this was made before Naruto proved that a faithful dub of an anime can be aimed at kiRAB and be a huge success.

=p Ever heard of, watch what you like, and ignore what other people say? Honestly I love Rave Master and it's a shame people don't really know how awesome it is. Yet I suggest reading the manga, because honestly the anime is not the greatest look on the series(in the beginning anyways.)

Yet the anime has good moments as well, it gets really good at the

Haru vs Sieg Hart the time master fight
Even in the dub, that part is very well done if I remeraber correctly.

But I gotta agree that the dub edits and writing is very bad.. yet it's not THAT bad. I remeraber loving the dub a lot, but I only started watching in the second half of the series, so maybe that's when the series cools down on the bad writing?
 
Maybe his blood pressure's too high or it's because of stress or too much [strike]alcohol[/strike] caffeine in his diet.

He's gotta stop getting involved in these battles or else he'll have a stroke before he's seven...and that's in dog years.

Those songs were fantastic and you all know it.

...man, I'd love to tune in for this, if only for the sheer strangeness, but I'm pooped and it's not even 10:00 PM. I really need a TiVo.
