Two Dennis Lehane stories in your top 10, I see. But no Shutter Island? I'm sad.

60. Red Eye

Jackson Rippner: Lisa, whatever female-driven, emotion-based dilemma you may be dealing with right now, you have my sympathy. But for the sake of time and sanity, let's break this down into a little male-driven fact-based logic. One simple phone call saves your dad's life.

Maybe the movie is a bit of a guilty pleasure, (we all know how much I love Rachel McAdams), but I really do believe that the movie is 90 solid minutes of pure entertainment. I thought McAdams and Cillian Murphy both gave great performances. I thought Craven did a great job of directing as well. For the limited budget that this film had, I think it turned out really well, and that probably makes me like it even more. If I'm looking for a quick and fun movie to watch, this is one of the best contenders for it.

59. Disturbia

Kale: So now you got the whole jock and bimbo population showing up? That will be fun. I just didn't think you'd conform so fast.

Perhaps the last movie on my list that everyone hates. But yes, this is another guilty pleasure of mine. You can say what you want about the film ripping off Rear Window and maybe it in fact did but it actually worked for me. I can't criticize the film for taking something from a good thing. Not that I actually condone it and in most cases it just wouldn't work. But isn't something like this better than a complete remake. It did have some great original elements to it, and I loved the movie as a whole.

58. Click

Michael Newman: Ben... family... always comes first...

Maybe I shouldn't have spoken so soon. Honestly, I don't really know what people around here think of this film but it probably is my favorite Adam Sandler comedy of all-time. I just like the fact that the comedy is blended with moments that are actually very serious. Plus, I love the majority of the rest of the cast, especially Christopher Walken in his comedic role and of course Kate Beckinsale. This movie used to be way higher in my rankings, but I brought it down a bit because I have seen other fantastic movies.

Sorry to keep you waiting, but it's going to be a few more days. It's harder than I thought and I want to see just a tad more movies before I do this. Expect something by around the weekend though

I love your choicesa of animation movies. Up and Alladin were great movies. +1

I like that you agree with me. Granted Wedding Crashers would not be in pretty much anybody's top 10, but for me, it is what a comedy is all about.

10. Unforgiven

Little Bill Daggett: You'd be William Munny out of Missouri. Killer of women and children.
Will Munny: That's right. I've killed women and children. I've killed just about everything that walks or crawled at one time or another. And I'm here to kill you, Little Bill, for what you did to Ned.

The dialogue to this movie is fantastic in my opinion. In this movie we see so many great actors giving great performances, perhaps none better than the villanous role of Gene Hackman. Truly a complete masterpiece of art done by Eastwood. This is what all westerns should be like. The progression of the characters is unlike any other movie that I've ever seen, especially with Eastwood's character. I am left with thinking that this is the movie that cemented Eastwood's legacy in hollywood, if it wasn't already cemented before that.

9. Rear Window

Jeff: What do you need as evidence? Bloody footprints leading up to his door?
Lt. Doyle: One thing I don't need is heckling. You called me and asked for help. Now you're behaving like a taxpayer.
Jeff: You know by tomorrow morning, there may not be any evidence left in that apartment, you know that?
Lt. Doyle: A detective's worst nightmare.

To me, this movie is Hitchcock's true masterpiece. I was tempted to put this even a bit higher on my list. Of course the movie couldn't be what it is without James Stewart and Grace Kelly, who combine to make what I would call perfect screen chemistry. The story is probably one of the most intriguing in the history of film. Possibly my favorite thriller of all time. The concept is so simple yet it is drawn out to be so intricate at the same time. This is the movie that got me to appreciate older films as well. Overall, one of my favorites.

30. American Gangster

"Frank Lucas don't run from nobody"

Denzel Washington puts on probably the best performance of the year in this one (in my opinion). Russell Crowe is also fantastic as the man trying to bring down Frank Lucas. Ridley Scott brings home a great movie here based on a true story. The powerhouse performances are what brings this movie alive for me. Denzel and Russell's performances both were deserving of acclaim for me. One of the more badass beginnings to any movie obviously.

29. Saving Private Ryan

Private Jackson: What I mean by that, sir, is if you was to put me and this here sniper rifle anywhere up to and including one mile from Adolf Hitler... with a clean line of sight... Pack your bags, fellas. War's over.

My dad and I used to always watch this movie and we were completely blown away by the work of Spielberg here. Kind of a joke that Shakespeare in Love beat it out for best picture, but I guess that sort of thing happens now and again. By far and away the best war movie of all-time for me. The visuals are just something that have always completely blown me away, especially the Normandy beach scene completely blows my mind away. Every time I see this movie is always a new adventure for me somehow. This movie should be a huge part of movie history in the years to come.

28. The Dark Knight

"Why so serious?"

Plain and simply, Christopher Nolan is just the man. He makes this one of the better superhero movies of all-time. The sound, the direction, and the story are simply phenominal. The performance of Heath Ledger is one of the more better villainous roles in movie history. This movie also cements Christian Bale as one of the better Batman's in movie history. There's no denying that not only is this movie great entertainment, but just a great movie period. Seeing it in the theaters was a movie experience that I will never forget.

Hey, I like that you're taking your time, buddy, and thinking it through. It took me ages to get organized

Well, as much as I wanted to wait longer I don't think it will do me much more good. There's so many films that I have yet to see that would probably easily enter this top 100 on a first viewing. But I figured I would do this once a year, and then I can switch it up.

Just as a reminder, I haven't seen as much as a lot of people here so this could be kind of different in comparison to others. There also may be a few surprising omissions since there are movies that people love and that I have seen but I didn't think were good enough to make it into this. Nonetheless, I'll start it off.

100. "For Tonight, we dine in hell!"

300

What more can be said. Just a plain fun action movie. When I saw this in the theater I was instantly amazed by the visuals presented throughout the film. I thought Gerard Butler was a perfect candidate to play King Leonidas, leading the march of 300 soldiers. Some of the fights within the movie are very entertaining to watch. Overall, just a nice solid and fun watch, for me at least.

Raul.. You've already got 4 out of 15 odd movies Shia Labeouf has done, in your top 100. You really are a Labeouf fan, aren't ya?

Reps for 12 angry men, The bridge on the river Kwai and The best years of our lives.

27. The Hurricane

"Hate put me in here, but love's gonna bust me free"

I'm not trying to take anything away from Kevin Spacey's performance in American Beauty, but I think Denzel Washington completely deserved the oscar for his role as Rueben "Hurricane" Carter. Denzel Washington makes you feel everything that the character is feeling with his acting. This is a feelgood story that is more like a masterpiece to me. The story may or may not be 100% accurate, but that doesn't mean it isn't one of the more awe-inspiring films out there.

26. L.A. Confidential

Lynn Bracken: I see Bud because I want to. I see Bud because he can't hide the good inside of him. I see Bud because he treats me like Lynn Bracken and not some Veronica Lake look-alike who ****s for money.

Powerhouse crime thriller. There are so many good movies from the 90's but this has to be included in any discussion of them. So many great actors putting on powerful performances. This is probably my favorite from Kevin Spacey and Russell Crowe, Guy Pearce, James Cromwell, and Danny DeVito. And of course we can not forget about Kim Basinger, who did really well with the role that she was given. The best thing about this movie has to be the screenplay and the direction. All crime thrillers should be compared to a movie of this stature.

25. Forrest Gump

"Life is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna get."

What a story of a man named Forrest Gump. This is just a movie that gets better and better each time you watch it. The performance that Tom Hanks put on is particularly spectacular for me, as it seems like it would be difficult to transform yourself to the role of this lead. Robin Wright Penn also puts in a good performance as well. This movie has happy parts and sad parts which really can mimic a normal person's life. This is more than just a great movie. This is a classic that will live on for a long time undoubtedly.

24. The Prestige

"Are you watching closely"

The first line to the movie says it all. You better watch this one closely, or you will miss out on a lot. This movie has perhaps the best twist of any movie. The movie also keeps you thinking constantly throughout it, which is a real positive for me. The art direction and the cinematography are completely unbelievable. The acting also gets big ups, from great performances from Hugh Jackman, Christian Bale, Scarlett Johansson, and Michael Caine. My favorite movie of its kind. Truly a masterpiece from Christopher Nolan, this is the movie that first made me like him as a director.

Rear Window is one of my favorites as well. And God, Grace Kelly is so beautiful.

The sad part of it is that I haven't seen Shutter Island yet. I will get to it soon hopefully along with 1,000 other movies in my queue.
