I think that a person's sense of humor has a lot to do with their identity, so I would answer your question by saying that my sense of humor is largely a result of my British-American context. This makes me stand out since many US citizens don't understand my sense of humor. It is too subtle for them, and British humor in general is more subtle than US humor.
Culture is the manifestation of our morals, values, beliefs and philosophies. Simply put it how we live and interact with people and the world around us. As a man thinks so shall he be. Meaning because we are self aware thinking beings the thoughts we keep often become who are. There many things that shape our thoughts and values. Identity and culture are as relative to each other as time and distance. Identity and culture are inseparable. One can't live in a culture counterproductive to their identity and be successful and any amount of sanity.
