YEs, overly sensitive.....that is what I meant about the body on a hair-trigger response. Alot of people have MVP, which is a benign heart condition. It's just a prolapse in the valve. It is not dangerous at all. It just has many side affects as the sensitivity to EVERYTHING is one of them. Don't worry. Also, you sound like me, somewhat of an anxious person. When you have anxiety, and stress, it seems like anytime something doesn't feel right in our bodies, we feel it and think the worse. I know I do. Right now my hip is bothering me. I am 105 lbs. and I have a five year old, plus 4 other kiRAB, but he was my last baby and I gained 50 lbs with him and my 5 disc in my back in bulging, (bulging disc.) sooooo, my hip feels like it pops out sometimes when i walk, not literally, but I think a nerve from my back is pinching somewhere, thus causing this pain, and of course my first thought??? hip cancer. I came on this site for alot of ailments, and currently it is the acid reflux. If course I thought of esphageal cancer, and those kinRAB of thought. Hey, maybe we need to go over to hypochondriacs!! Hang in there. I pray all the time, and it never fails....everytime I go to church, I get my answers!

You are right about the silver lining. I think my silver lining is the fact that I pray more, I am eating healthier and losing that weight that I need to, and learning more about health issues. SO you are right. There is always good with the bad.

Hi Ladies! It has been a rough day for me. I really think since my body hasn't been sedated for over 20 years (light sedation during labor with my baby) it didn't like it so well. After the 24 hour mark after the sedation I have had these symptoms: Dizzy, shaky, nauseated, headache and diarrhea. YUCK!!!
Now mind you I have had NO medications, vitamins or anything in my for over 3 days. Just food and water. AND the sedation med!!
I am having pms symptoms and I wish it would start because some of this could be tied into that. But I don't get it this bad. I honestly think it is the after effects as the drug wears off. I could be wrong. But there is no one to talk to about this.
Also...they found nothing wrong inside me during the upper GI scope. So what is going on here?? Oh and I keep taking my temp. just incase I am getting the flu or infection or something...no fever! It's totally normal. Hmmm..

Please keep doing your research and trying to piece it all together. Your doctors will not do this for you. I do think you would be surprised by how much the Xanax will help you once you get used it. I hate taking medications but I made an exception for this one. There is something called Mitral Valve Prolapse Syndrome. I was diagnosed with MVP when I was in high school. This would definitely be worth looking into, as well as the menopause issues. I'm not trying to criticise the medical profession entirely, I work in it, but it's very hard to find a doctor who will look at the body and symptoms as a whole and actually take the time to put together a real diagnosis. Unfortunately when it comes to complicated symptoms and issues they usually resort to the "trial and error" method. Take this, try that, see me in a month. It can be very frustrating and add to your anxiety but then as soon as you mention anxiety then they have their diagnosis. It's all in your head, easy enough, see ya. So many things get overlooked because of this. Keep praying, keep researching, don't give up and please join me in my fantasy of one day being able to eat pizza again. I miss food. I miss it so much I actually gave in and ate chili cheese fries today with mustard. Oops.
Trust me, you're not crazy, if you have the symptoms then they are real. If you feel the anxiety then it is real and you deserve to have some relief from that.
I can sympathize with your worries about the economy and money issues. I'm currently in forclosure and have a less than a month to find a place to live. It is not silly for you to be worried about those things, they can and do happen, but your physical and mental health have to come first, everything else will fall into place when you have those two things under control. I learned the hard way and did it backwarRAB, it's much harder that way, so please learn from my mistakes. And to all of you who are praying, keep praying and know that I will be joining you. And please don't let other people convince you that you are crazy. You are not crazy, you are human, regardless of what it is you are feeling or why you are feeling it. There are so many things that can go wrong, it just takes time to sort it all out.

Good Morning joey32 and all,
I pray that all of you have a good day today. I got pics from my colonoscopy for the 1st time--very interesting:eek: precious49 God Bless You and Yours Today and EveryDay All of you are in my prayer book and I pray daily for you. Because when Drs. can't help--God can in ways that are far beyond Drs. help. I pray that God will give each of you the Love you need today.

It could certainly be the sedation, but, it could also be the effects of the stress you were feeling before. Your body was probably in a very high state of anxiety (understandably!!) and sometimes those effects can be felt way after the stressful event. I know general anesthetic is different than IV sedation, but that can take months to get fully out of your system. Lots of water and deep breathing (as the lungs are another vital organ for depleting toxins and strange chemicals in our body) may help. And yes it can take months for the esophagus to heal, and that is if the medications are working to keep the acid production low. Have you started your new meRAB (what did they give you???)

Thanks for sharing that with me and telling me about it. I am usually posting between Acid reflux, Anxiety, and Menopause boarRAB. Oh and the Thyroid board as well. Those 4 keep me busy. Ya we sound alike. I always feel like I might have something if I hear a symptom that I might have. Nuts isn't it? lol

P.S. Sorry about your back. I hope you feel better! You sound like a tiny gal. I am 5'8 and well lets just say I am trying to get back into the 140's weight wise and I am not there yet. But I am quite an athletic built gal.

I was just wondering if any of you who have had the endoscopy with sedation know how long the sedation drugs stay in your body?? My friend who has had numerous procedures done says she thinks it is about 3 days. If that is the case did you have any side effects coming of the drug? It has been just 24 hour now since I was sedated and I feel a little dizzy and shaky. Could it be coming of the drugs?? Or maybe it is just me being hormonal, PMS, allergies I don't know. Any thoughts??

Good Morning TEdwarRAB and Chantal and joey,
I'm so sorry that both of you have the anxiety with tests. I guess that I've had so many that it doesn't bother me at all anymore. Chantal I will put you on my prayer list to pray for on the 21st. What time is your procedure?
My phone went off Friday at 1:20 for TEdwarRAB but apparently I didn't ask the Lord for the right thing for you. I'm so sorry that you're having so much trouble. I pray that today is better. It does sound like you're stressed out and I would take the medication at least for awhile to see if it helps. I do get stressed at times but for the most part, I'm really laid back. This has been my saying for a long time---"If I can't change it and God won't-- then--Forget About It". Most of the time that really works for me and stressing out alot is not good for our bodies.
I really had a bad day yesterday. And it was caused from the 2 tests that I had done this week. I've only gone to the bathroom 1 time since my colonoscopy Wed. The CT Scan that I had Fri. is what has caused the worst problem--I had to drink that yucky Barium stuff:p and it's still in my system. I've done all the natural things to help except eat prunes and I'm going to do that this morning. The flavored prunes are so good! To me they are like candy.
If you have a health food store that carries "Toffuti Cutties" you should try them. They are soy--like an ice cream sandwich--oh my goodness--they are so good:)
You should be able to get anything you want from your test. You paid for it so legally they are yours. I got pics of my colon for the 1st time--interesting:eek:
Chantal--You're so sweet--You need to Baby Yourself also:angel:
joey--you sound very informed and sometimes we do just have to accept things and "live with it and do the best we can".
I pray right now that WE ALL HAVE A BLESS'D DAY AND THAT GOD WILL GET THE GLORY. precious49 God Bless You and Yours Today and EveryDay:angel::angel::angel:

Hi Tammy,

I often get sick and feel like I'm getting the flu just before my period. However, for me, it has always been this way.

Just drink lots of water and try to get the sedation meRAB out of your system.

I asked my husband if he had any side effects from sedation after his colonoscopy and he said he doesn't remeraber. MEN!!! I bet they wouldn't forget labor and delivery or even a bad period with cramps from he**.

hugs,
Chantal

Feel better soon.

I don't know what is normal. I can tell you that the 3 times I have had that type of sedation I had absolutely no after-effects.

After being under for full surgeries, I had difficulty with bad nausea.

Yes, pretty small framed. I have to watch what I eat though cause I love food.

I once thought I had Schleraderma after watching a movie. Sometimes these sites can get you to think you are seriously ill. I just need to keep things in perspective. Well, hang in there. I may see you over on the menopause board too since I think we are around the same age. i am 43. I think I may have some peri-menopausal symptoms. It really isn't fun at all. Well, take care!

One more thing- there should be pictures for you to get from your doctor and/or a video of the procedure. Keep pushing them.

Hi Tammy, precious, joey and frienRAB,

I've been going through LOTS of anxiety here. Just thinking about next Wed. ties my stomach in knots.

I talked to the anethesologist and his nurse on Monday. He said I would get propofol. I also saw my primary care Dr. and she was as usual very encouraging. I told her I was afraid and she said she understood. She did say that there are risks to everything we do in life. She also said that in her 20 yrs. of practice she has only had three patients who had a perforation as a result of a colonoscopy. I'd rather she had said she had NONE!! With my condition, redundant colon, I'm terrified of perforation. I told my surgeon/GI Dr. to NOT perforate me.

I'm at the point tonight where I don't know if I can go through with it. I'm so scared of complications.

I'm sorry for those of you who are facing foreclosure. We do not own our own home. The house we live in is provided to us as part of my husband's compensation for his job. However, we were planning on buying in the next year or so but the market greatly depleted our savings and now we don't know when we will be able to even look for our own home. It's scary. We lost A LOT of money and I doubt we will ever get it all back.

Tammy, did you find out what sedation meRAB they gave you?

Thanks everyone for praying for me. You are all in my prayers too.

xxoo,
Chantal

I am wondering if I might be suffering from post traumatic stress disorder. ( I know I haven't been in a war) It can still happen when you get yourself Soooo worked up that when the event is over your body just lets down and has some traumatic symptoms. It's nuts. I mean I have been shaky, diarrhea, headachey...then I got to thinking about my thyroid too. I wasn't allowed to take my thyroid med at 8 am like I have done everyday for the last 4 years. I had to wait until about 5 pm. Then it threw me off schedule. So the next morning I took it at 10 am. So I didn't wait a full 24 hours. I don't if it was doubling up on my med. If so...too much thyroid med can make you on the hyperthyroid side temporarily. Those symptoms can be, racing heart, jittery, and a few other things. I really don't know what it was.

All I know is that I am tired today. Just wiped out. A little shaky but not as bad. I just want to lay in bed. I know I have stuff to do. But I guess I can rest. I just wasn't expecting things like this to bother me after being sedated. I think it must be my high anxiety. I am not noticing my acid reflux the past couple of days to be too bad. Probably because I am freaked out about this other stuff. The nurse thinks I am a highly anxious person and suggested I get a prescription for Xanax. Any thoughts on this? Someone said it helps with reflux. Hmmm that might be nice too.

Hello TEdwarRAB83,
I'm so sorry that you're having such a bad day. Do you know what they gave you? It does sound like you may have had a reaction to it because usually it's out of your system by then. But each person is different. If it continues, I would call where you had it done and talk to someone there.
I'm thankful that they found nothing wrong but I know what you mean--there is something that is causing your problem. I just pray right now that you get to feeling better. My phone beeped me at 1:20 yesterday and I knew that it was time to pray for you. I just want you to get to feeling better:)

HI Ladies! Thinking of you today! I hope you are all well. I had my first good day in probably two months. I barely felt the reflux and it put me in a really good mood. God is good! And eating right has paid off. It just takes time.

I wanted to touch base with Chantal. The Endoscopy place sent me paperwork today and I want to let you know that my sedation meRAB were: FENTANYL AND VERSED. Those are the two they used. They have two others they can use and those are Demerol and Morphine. But they chose the Fentanyl and Versed for me. Luckily I did fine with those. I kept the paperwork in my files here at home so if I have to have something done again I can tell them I did ok with these drugs.

You will be fine!! You are in my prayers! I know your big day is coming up. You will do great and be coming here to tell us all about it just like I did.
Hugs!

I had the same procedure about a month go. After the procedure they rushed me out of the room so fast I was still drugged up and didn't know what the hell was going on.I got home and slept for about 5 hours. But after that I was fine. I think the drugs they give you are very short acting and don't stay in your system for too long.

I think it must be your PMS because even when you're under General Anesthesia it's 'OUT" of your body in 3 days.

They found I had GERD and a hiatal hernia. Everytime that I eat NO MATTER how much it always come back up lke I'm throwing up only it's not the same thing if you know what I mean. No heaving or anything like that but it just comes up instead of a burp and it's pretty disgusting to say the least.

Hope they find out what your problems are fast. good luck.

Well if it is not the sedation wearing off then...could it be pms symptoms?? My period is due to start any minute now. Maybe my hormones are going up or down and I am just shaky and dizzy. I don't know. It's freaking me out.

HI Precious and all! I just got off the phone with the Endoscopy place. I am really kind of upset with them. They didn't check on me until 3 days later. And I was suppose to receive paperwork. Apparently I signed it but I have not found it yet. I told her I was unhappy that I had no one to talk to when I was feeling so weird. She just said "sorry" and that was about it. Also I asked for my report and she said it would be a few days until the doctor had it filled out. That's fine. I also wanted the pictures. She said there are no pictures. She said they don't take pictures unless there is a problem. Hmmmm.... I am not sure what I think about this. Is this standard protocol anyone? I would like to know the truth. Thanks! I mean after all I went through I just want something infront of me.
