Personally, I like Tom Tom. I like their ease of use and straight forward menus. But the new feature I really like is their Map Share! It's a free feature. Let's say a bridge is closed in your area for repairs. You put that change into your TomTom and upload it to TomTom by connecting it to your computer and going to the TomTom website. They will verify it and in turn send it back down to all other uses who have turned on the Map Share feature within 10 days.
What this allows is the most up to date database you can have. Most formal GPS updates only come out about once a year. IF you regularly connect to TomTom and have turned the Map Share features on, you will have information that is really up date! Yeah if you come across a closed exit/road/bridge your other GPS units can help you get out of the problem, but with this feature you will avoid being in the position in the first place.
