i just connected my brand new stereo to my car and i noticed that sound isn't coming out of my speakers. i know that i can check the speaker wires, if i get two of the wires, a green and a green with a black stripe wire, one should be postitive and the other one should be negative. i checked all the wires that are going out to the speakers and all of them are coming out with positive energy. why is this? i belive that one of my wires is not connected correctly. i tried following the exact colors, what can i do or how can i check it?

regardless if the polarity is correct the speakers should still put out sound. but they will cancel each other out. but is still audible. if your head unit has an option to turn off the internal amp that might be your problem. if you dont mind post what car this is in and the head unit model number.

Did you use a harness adapter? It plugs into the factory radio harness and is wired to the new stereo harness.
