Quantum of Solace - Teaser

Can't stand Craig as Bond.

No glamour,

No Bond charm,

Looks more like a plumber,

The trailer looks like Jason Bourne in style and plot.

Having said all of the above... it could be an entertaining film but anyone with a basic knowledge of both the Fleming novels and the original movie version of Bond will know Craig's Bond films and Craig himself are not remotely James Bond. Bond is sophisticated and refined (as well as tough and a public servant paid killer). Craig is not sophisticated nor refined.

Interesting "dislike" you've got there for Mr Craig.

Surely the new crop of Bond films are the best way to go? Less shmarmy unrealistic camp nonsense and more true to life. (ok maybe not true to life but more realistic). If Bond is just starting off (Casino Royale), why can't he develop his charm and glamour as he goes?

So Flemings first choice was Carey Grant, who was too expensive at the time followed by: David Niven, James Mason, Patrick McGoohan, Rex Harrison, Richard Burton and Stewart Granger. A mixed bag?

Quoting from Casino Royale: "It was a dark, clean-cut face, with a three-inch scar showing whitely down the sunburned skin of the right cheek . . . His features relapsed into a taciturn mask, ironical, brutal, and cold" - ambiguous maybe? I think Craig pulls it off rather well.

Do you know Daniel Craig? He certainly seems more sophisticated and refined than most actors to me.

Teaser trailers are notoriously hard to use as a judging stick, but that looks all a bit too much like Casino Royale to me.

Too many quick cut edits to see what's going on, too many unoriginal Bourne-esque stunt sequences, and more of Judi Dench shouting "Stop Bond!". Sorry, but we had all that 2 years ago.

And Craig holding that huge gun at the end just looked very silly.

Casino Royale was the film that, against all odRAB, made me care about the tired self-parody that was the James Bond franchise. So glad this seems to be continuing the tradition that what was essentially 'Bond Begins' set out in 2006.

It looked ok to me but left me feeling a bit empty. The "Don't do that Bond" theme is getting a little boring now. Since when has Bond ever listened to orders? "Stop his passports!" oh purrleease.

There are good things in it tho. The guy who played the french informant in "Munich" is in this I see. Good to see Felix is back in this too.

Bourne 4 already? Matt Damon's looking a bit craggy these days.

Actually it looks alright. The last time Bond went out for personal revenge though was Licence to Kill. Which flopped.

The old Bond simply wont work in the 21st century....... Bronson proved that.

The Bourne films totally showed the world how it should be done...... Smart, clever script and plots that aren't throw away..... That's what racks in the cash..... And that's how the new Bond films will be like from now on..... Get use to it!

P.s...... Being a woman, I'd do Craig in a shot. ;):p:o

It's looks really good, just like Casino Royale. What I mean by that is that it actually looks like Casino Royale. I know it's a different movie, and this follows directly on but it looks like pretty much the same thing.
