Quantum Leap

Course if Sam changing history in the last episode so he and Al never met meant QL never happened... that would create the paradox of him never being able to go back and change it in the first place *head spin*...

Come to think of it though... in A Leap For Lisa we're shown that PQL would still exist had Al and Sam never met because history is changed and a young Al dies, with an old English fuddy-duddy taking the place of the hologram.... lots to think about lol.

Quantum Leap was amazing, loved it on bbc2 at 9pm (think it was thursdays)

It should be rebooted but i fear that an old Sam and Al wont hold up anymore. A film would be a fitting way to go out.

Yes, but there were moves earlier this year that made it look more likely than in the past.

There is a thread in the Cult forum I think discussing the new remake plans.

Some of my favourite QL episodes are

"The Boogieman" - Sam leaps into horror novelist Joshua Rae who is surrounded by death and mystery. Al and Ziggy don't seem to be able to predict what will happen and Sam is running out of suspects.

"The Leap Back" - Sam and Al switch roles after a lightning strike. This allows Sam to return home to his wife, but when Al leaps into Captain Tom Jarrett, he is set to be killed by his lover's jealous ex-fiance, Sam must act as his hologram in order to save Al.

"It's A Wonderful Leap" - Sam is a New York City taxicab driver named Max Greenman who's trying to earn enough money to get his father his own medallion. Along the way he meets a woman who claims to be an angel and can see Al, believing him to be the devil.

"The Leap Home (Part 2)

Just checked the thread.

Scott Bakula himself has confirmed that a movie is in process that could lead to a series.

Don Bellasario is writing the script.

So there are certainly a few positive signs here.

Though it is argued that a recast is being considered because of the current age of the leaRAB.

To me QL without the original Sam and Al in it is pointless and they have both had success in recent SF series (Enterprise and Galactica respectively) - so hardly out of the public eye.

But certainly the revival of QL seems closer than it has for years given what Bakula himself said in August.

Why did ITV4 say it would be on every night at 6? According to the EPG there's a Bond film on tonight.

On further inspection the next episodes are on Friday, Tuesday, Friday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday.

Bizarre scheduling to say the least.

I agree that a remake neeRAB the original Sam and Al. Sam could have been leaping all this time until a way for him to return home is found. No reason why they can't have younger characters too of course, but the relationship between the original two is one of the things that made it so great..

they showed them all. I watched every single episode of it....i didn't realize the show was ending so when mirror image was shown i was gutted when the end happened.

A show like quantum leap made a great impact in tv history and was ended way too soon, another 3 series could and should have been made

Talking about the music. There are some episodes in which they use real songs over a scene.I'm wondering if the music originally featured in those scenes are the same songs to feature in those scenes in the boxset?.You hear about music rights & sometimes when a show comes out on dvd the song has been changed from what it was when the scene was originally shown on tv.

The music was changed to library music for the Region 1 releases, however I believe most of the music is intact for the Region 2 DVRAB.

Quantum Leap is a strange show in that whilst no one really rants and raves about how great it was and how much they want it back, I would say that 90% of my frienRAB watched it in their past and liked it and certainly wouldn't be averse to watching a new version. I think there is an untapped well here, ready for some network or film company to discover...

there was a new quantum leap episode last year i think it was called "A leap to die for"

It was a fan made version, scott loved it.

I'm a huge QL fan...try al's place..its got written episodes of QL after mirror image, theres some good storys.

I managed t watch the repeat of yesterdays show today. Great fun.

He was in the Watergate Building at the same time as the 'burglars' :D and the music was great too.....1972...groovy :D

BBC showed the second half of the first season  (minus the last two episodes) late night a couple of years ago.

There are no DVD releases anywhere in the world unfortunately

Can't believe this was made over 20 years ago, I remember watching this and Twin Peaks at the time on BBC2. Even named my dog Sam after Dr Sam Beckett, plus it was easier to shout if he ran off
