Quantum Leap

I remember watching QL the first time around on BBC2 i think it was shown on a Wednesday night?. ITV3 about 2 or 3 years ago showed QL.They may have shown the series twice. It's also currently shown on the Scfy channel.

I love the sci-fi aspect too but it also works on an emotional level. The relationship between Sam and Al is fantastic and the thread that runs through all the shows keeps it coherent.

I also liked that some weeks were funny, some sad, some serious. All with that bittersweet knowledge that while he might be doing good each time he actually wants to get home.

If they do a film then surely he will get home at the end of it.

I loved Journeyman and was gutted it got cancelled after only 13 episodes (I think). It was a shame it only started just before the scriptwriters strike as it might have been a different story if there hadn't been that gap :(

I also loved Sliders, Early Edition and Quantum Leap of course too! :D I never saw the early series of QL so it might be worth taking a look at them to see if they are ones I have seen or not.

The one that stood out for me (apart from the very last one) was the JFK one...and also the one where Sam became a vampire, at least, I think it was a vampire cos I never watched that episode as I have such a fear of them  I just couldn't watch it to see what happened.

I love Quantum Leap. It was a great show. Glad to see it back on ITV 4. However at that timeslot some episodes are either going to be cut to shreRAB or not shown at all.

It was a great show - sadly after three seasons the constant theme of Sam having to save someone because they were going to die the next day took its toll on the series. However it sort of made its way back somewhat with the Evil Leaper storyline and I also thought the ending(whilst strange) was quite poignant and novel.

loved quantum leap and sliders though that went a bit off near the end..wish they would repeat early edition though..that was a great show..getting tomorrow's newspaper the day before everything happens

It was cancelled just as it was revealed that his son could also jump (?leap :D ) through time and was about to go into Livia's past :(

At least Quantum Leap had five seasons to tell it's story :o

I was a big Quantum Leap fan when it first aired. It has held up very well indeed, in my opinion.

I'm still hoping for a movie version where Dr Beckett gets home.

In the final episode I remember the godlike figure telling him that he didn't need the program and that he had the power to leap all by himself. All of the people in the bar were linked to AL in some way. He realised it was all about Al and what would make him happy. He leaped back to Al's first love and told him that he was alive and in a POW camp and to wait for him. Thus he married her, never met Sam and they never came up with the QL program. He could never leap home but would forever be an Angel who could leap into peoples lives and help them. Well that was what I think the gist of it was anyway :-) Will be interesting to see if the film is a complete remake or if they will somehow continue from there

I loved the ending episode, but I thought the point at the end was that he effectivly sacrificed himself and effectivly ceased to exist.

Apparently a Quantum Leap remake is under discussion in the US. QL was made by the same man who has created the ratings phenomenon that is NCIS (and Magnum before that, of course) I think the network owe him one.
