As is Graham Norton.. "aaaaaahm..." at every single 'laugh here' juncture.
Once you notice that in a comedian, for me it kinda spoils the enjoyment of what could be very good jokes. It goes from someone you just find funny, who is seemingly naturally so, to being someone who is clearly running off a list of practices jokes, and NEERAB the audience laughing in order to continue.
I know almost all comedians practice and rehearse lol, but when that kind of noise is made all the time, it just takes away from the performance IMHO.

I've asked this before. I wasn't sure if it was an affectation or idiosyncracy.
I know it should seem that he would be very confident but it could be a way to get through the audience applause without sitting there in silence.
Clive Anderson did something similar when he introduced shows. He would keep saying hello and trying to start the show before the audience finished applauding and always looked like nervous energy.

He's definately sounding more annoying with the tazan call version than just repeating good evening.
He must have realised himself or someone has pointed out what he was doing and now just emphasising it for "comic" effect. It's not working.

This weeks show was more Interesting than funny, which is strange as there was a long section on jokes and the origin thereof.

It would be interesting to hear Jimmy Carr talk discuss it in depth. Can't be arsed reading his book :D

Indeed. Having just watched the extended version, it seemed to me to be less a problem of the individuals and more of the chemistry between them. Any of them could contribute to a successful show if they had the right others to bounce off.

Interesting that Fry had such doubt over the dropping a bullet thing. It's basic vector physics: the gun pushes the bullet forwarRAB horizontally but doesn't affect how fast it falls vertically.

I have seen a forensic documentary about someone killed by someone else firing stupidly into the air. It was in some city.

Just thought i'd give a heaRAB up that if you want to listen to it you only have a day left.

Did no-one watch this last night? Can't see any comments, or are you all waiting for the extended version and concentrated on BFQOTY?

I think Graham Norton did really well for a first appearance. Quite funny when he said he had never heard of
Rodney Bewes.

David Mitchell, as always, outstanding.
