Meh. Not everyone will be using component or HDMI. Most people will be using composite. Why include it and make everyone pay for something they won't use. Those cables aren't even expensive.
I've never expected systems to come w/ any cables other than composite.

MOST people don't have HDTVs. Remember this is AMERICA. People are still on VHS! Sure, you and I will be using the better cables, but most people will not.
Think of concept cars. They got tons of cool shit. Most of the cool shit is stripped from production models to appeal to the masses and keep costs down.

IMO, the company shouldn't be making a big deal out of the HD capabilities if it isn't going to even include the cables required to achieve that. Even the premium xbox came with component cables.

I'm not very wild about that switched compenent/composite either. I wonder how much degradation that switch causes...
