No I don't. Are you saying there is a way to use the original 2700 remote to turn a tv on/off?

Just wondering if anyone can help me. I am trying to program the 9241 remote to operate a Sony Blu-Ray player model BDP-S360, but cannot find the code
number for the Sony unit. It is not listed in the manual that came with the PVR 9241. Any help would be appreciated.

Not sure if i'm in the right place, but here it goes...

I just got a 6131 receiver after being told by 2 reps at Bell that the uhf remote would work with it. In the box came a 5.3 IR remote. Before i go out to buy the uhf remote, i did some online research and am a bit confused now... Is the 6131 receiver uhf compatible ? I don't see an antenna port in the back.... What should that port look like ? Unless the antenna is built-in the 6131 receiver ? I got that receiver mainly because i was told the uhf remote would work (receiver is in basement and is hooked up to basement system and to tv in kitchen on floor above). I don't need that receiver for HD signal yet (in process of purchasing HD projector soon...), i want it so i can change the channels from the upper floor without having to buy a remote extender that don't always work that good....

Thanks

Note that soe of this information is specific to a particular revision of remote (indicated on the label)
Here is some info from the manual:

PROGRAMMING USING EQUIPMENT CODE TABLES
1 Turn the equipment on.
2 Find the brand name of the equipment in the tables in the manual.
3 Press and hold the mode button until all the other mode buttons light up, and then let go of the button. The mode button flashes.
4 For AUX mode only. Press 0 for a second TV, or 1 for a second VCR, or 2 for a tuner, or amplifier.
5 Enter one of the three-digit equipment codes from the table using the number buttons.
6 Press POUND (#). If you entered the code correctly (and it is recognised by the remote), the mode button flashes three times.
7 If you can’t find a code that works, try Scanning for Equipment Codes

SCANNING FOR EQUIPMENT CODES
1 Turn the equipment on.
2 Press and hold the mode button until all the other mode buttons light up, and then let go of the button. The mode button flashes. For example, hold TV for a TV until all of the other mode buttons light. When you let go, TV will flash.
3 For AUX mode only. Press 0 for a second TV, or 1 for a second VCR, or 2 for a tuner, or amplifier.
4 Press POWER. This puts your remote in the scan mode.
5 Press the UP or DOWN ARROW repeatedly until the equipment turns off. As you press the UP or DOWN ARROW, the remote tries each code in the memory to see if it can turn off your equipment. When the equipment turns off, you have found a code that might work.
6 Press POUND (#). The mode button flashes three times if you have entered the code correctly. This stores the code you found.
7 Turn the equipment back on and try some other buttons to make sure they work.

SWITCHING BETWEEN TV AND AMPLIFIER VOLUME CONTROL

Control Amplifier Volume
1 Press and hold the AUX mode button for three seconds, and then let go of it. The AUX mode button will blink.
2 Press the POUND (#) button.
3 Press the plus (+) side of the VOLUME button.
4 Press the 0 number button.
5 Press the POUND (#) button. The AUX mode button flashes three times.

Control TV Volume
1 Press and hold the TV mode button for three seconds, and then let go of it. The TV mode button will blink.
2 Press the POUND (#) button.
3 Press the plus (+) side of the VOLUME button.
4 Press the 0 number button.
5 Press the POUND (#) button. The TV mode button flashes three times.

READING OUT THE REMOTE CONTROL CODES (so you can write them down)
1 Press and hold the mode button for the equipment you want the remote to control. When all the other mode buttons light up, let go of the mode button - that mode button should now be flashing. For example, hold the TV mode button for a TV until all of the other mode buttons light. When you let go, the TV mode light will flash.
2 Press the POUND (#) button twice. The mode button flashes the number for each digit of the equipment code, with a pause between the groups of flashes. A quick flash is for zero.
For example, if the code is 570, the mode button flashes five times, pauses, flashes seven times, pauses, and flashes once quickly. For AUX mode, the first group of flashes tells you what the AUX mode controls. A quick flash (zero) before the three-digit code is for a TV; one regular flash is for a VCR or DVD player; and two flashes is for a tuner or amplifier.
For example, if the TV code is 570, the AUX mode button flashes once quickly, pauses, flashes five times, pauses, flashes seven times, pauses, and flashes once quickly.

CHANGING THE REMOTE AND RECEIVER ADDRESS
1 Press SYSTEM INFO on the receiver's front panel. The System Information screen displays and shows the Remote Address.
2 Press and hold SAT on your remote control for about three seconds, until all of the mode buttons light up, and then let go of SAT.
3 Use the NUMBER PAD to enter any number between 1 and 16.
4 Press POUND (#). If you entered the address correctly, SAT will flash three times.
5 Press RECORD. Make sure the Remote Address you see on the System Information screen is the same as the one you entered in step 3. If it isn't, the remote cannot control the receiver. Press RECORD a second time.
6 Press SELECT to close the System Information screen.

If you need to "remarry" a remote and receiver, you can often skip #2, #3 and #4 above as long as the remote is already programmed with an address.

Has anybody had any luck programming the 6131 remote to operate the above blu-ray player? Thanks

Peter,

Try700, 765, or 685. 700 will turn on and cycle through the video inputs on my 54V10.

any help?I searched n tryed some techniques to get it to work but couldnt get it. I got it so i can shut it off with the remote but not to mute and turn up and down.

Thanks

All of them.

If you have them all on the same Remote address they will all function together.

If you change the address on them so they are all different, you can control each one seperately.

I know it is possible to control 2 receivers with 1 remote using the AUX button.

I have a 9242 and a 211k/6131 hooked up to one television.

I have an old scratched up remote that came with the 9242 (5.3 IR) with the green tab on it (TV1).

I managed to program the AUX button so that this 5.3 IR remote controls the 211k/6131 also.

I wanted to use the fresh (clean) remote that came with the 211k/6131 (5.4 IR) so I tried programming the AUX button to control the 9242.

I could not get it to work, and I followed the exact same procedures as with the 5.3 IR remote.

Remote Address is 1 for the 211k/6131 and 5 for the 9242.

Is it not possible to control these two receivers with a 5.4 IR remote, as I did with the 5.3 IR remote?

Thanks

it should have been a 5.4 remote... never have I seen a 5.3 be shipped or heard of it being shipped with a 6131...

and no.. the 6131 reciever in itself is not capable or recieving UHF signals... it is a IR only reciever

If you achieved this with the "scan" function of the Remote, that might be about all you can hope for, with that particular Remote.

You do not say what model Bell Receiver you have, it is possible a newer models remote may have more codes, one of which might work.

Hi! I tried all the AUX code for Audio Amplifier and Receiver in teh Bell ExpressVu manual section 13 and I'm absolutly not able to turn ON or OFF my Sony STR-DE445 Amplifier and Receiver for my Home Theater. My old remote for my SD PVR was able to and I tried the older code without any success. I also tried the scan code without more success.

Does somebody can help me with this one please? Thanks.

Yes you can control all of them but you will need to change the remote address on the remote each time as well. I believe you can use the AUX button to setup the receiver as well so without changing any address on the remote I would say 2. Changing the address on the remote all of them.

Thanks for your reply. And yes it's a 5.4, my mistake !!! Thanks for the info, now i have to call them and send this receiver back, it's not doing what i want it to do.... We also got some info from the Bell store an hour ago and they said that the 9241 PVR has the UHF capabalities, but i don't need the PVR. So hopefully they take the 6131 back and i'm gone keep my 4100 and go buy a remoter extender and hope it will work !!!

2. hit #
3. hit + on volume
4. hit 0
5. press plus and minus on remote
6. hit sat
