Presenting ToonZone's Top 30 Anime/Manga Characters of All Time (56k warning)

This sure was a fun exercise glad Lina Inverse and Konata made it... not Cutie Honey or Gon sadly :/ oh well.

I say we should do this sort of thing more often! How about we do one next time with more restrictions (like only red haired characters, only female lead, only characters that are in school, character from before 1990 etc)?
 
I'm just glad Alucard made the list. The list is pretty good although there are quite a few characters on there that I have no idea who they are. "shrugs"
 
If we do, someone else will have to volunteer to tally up the final score. Adding all that up was ridiculously tedious (hence why it took me more than a week to get around to finishing). (-:
 
Ah, sad I am that Jet didn't make the top 30.

Disgusted and Nauseated with a due sense of Contempt and general Loathing to see Luffy and Goku be 1 and 2. Not, I hasten to add, the least bit surprised by this however. I can accept that people do love thier One Piece and Dragonball, no matter how much I will forever disagree with them about it.

I won't go into it though.

All in all, not terribly surprised by the results. Didn't see any major upsets.
 
I just noticed how the list lacks someone from Bleach and Naruto, that's quite a shocker, since I thought those anime had a big following here.
 
That was a pretty nice list. I was glad to see that Lina Inverse made it on there since she's one of my favorite female characters. I was kind of surprised that Tamaki made it. I loved what I saw of Ouran Host Club and he's a cool character, but I wasn't expecting him on the list. Seeing Luffy at nuraber one wasn't too much of a surprise, considering how many people, even me, on this forum enjoy One Piece.

No surprise there, since a lot of us love One Piece. A few unexpected ones here and there. Glad Kenzo Tenma and Haruko made the list. Though, I'm kind of surprised Lelouch and Tamaki is as high as they are.
 
Come on, there was no way in the world that the greatest, most badass vampire in the manga universe wouldn't make the list, again, id have to say nefarious forces were at work if that dint happen.
 
Heh, I don't know anything about anyone on this site, let alone what most people like or dislike (Well, I do know almost everyone that likes Naruto seems to hate Sasuke) outside of majority everyone here likes Naruto, Luffy, Evangelion, DBZ, Gundam and Gurren Lagann (of course I'm indifferent about most of that). I stopped paying attention quite some time ago, so, yeah...
 
Overall, I can't complain about this list. Most of the choices were really good, and I feel that a lot of characters deserved their respective spots. While I wouldn't personally rank Luffy as my favorite anime character, I do think that he deserved his spot this time, and he is definitely a top 10-worthy character at the very least. I still have no complaints about Goku's ranking, of course, and even though Kenshin and Spike are only just a little bit higher than they were before, I still think that they are at the spots that they deserve to be at, IMO, since all that really matters is that they make it into the top 5, which I mostly agree with except for Lelouch, but then again that probably has more to do with the fact that I just don't really care for Code Geass as a show in general, but I still can't complain about the list since it features many other characters on it which I do like.

I'm really glad to see that both Yusuke and Kurama made the list, as they both deserve it, but I did not expect to see Yusuke make the top 10, so that in itself was a huge and very pleasant surprise for me. I'm also suprised to see that Tenma and Johan made the list, and once again, I'm really glad that they did. However, while I would have ranked him much higher (being that he is my favorite manga/anime character, and all ) I'm still happy enough to see that Eikichi Onizuka was even ranked within the top 30 at all.
 
Not a One Piece fan, but hey, for those of you who like One Piece and hate IGN's placement of him on their list (crap, even Japanator did a top 25 list similar to here and had Spike end up as #1), this was your due. Heck, I'm glad the list was extended to 30 to include Clare, who beat out Wolfwood and Vegeta, and that's all I care about.
