Why top 30? Because we like to go [strike]a step[/strike] five steps beyond.

These are the Top 30 Anime and Manga Characters of All Time as chosen by the merabers of the rabroad Anime Forum in this thread. One slight change to the rules not mentioned in the previous thread: ties were broken by giving the edge to the character that had the most different people vote for him/her.

Now that's what I call a list.

Can't believe Haruko and Totoro made it in. Not bad. Even happier that Luffy is #1

(Might wanna fix some of those pictures though)

EDIT: I'm not sure whether to laugh or not that neither Naruto or Ichigo are in there.
 
What mistake? I don't see a mistake. It looks quite correct.

Nice showing for Kenshin. I regret Char being the only Gundam character to make it, but he's definitely a good one. As antagonists and rivals go, he's still a giant.
 
Not a bad list. A few odd choices, without a doubt - I mean, how did Lelouch beat Vash and Yusuke!? - but I'm mostly content with it.

Great top three, even if they are very (VERY) obvious choices.
 
Booooo! I demand a recount!

I mean for starters, Anew should clearly be #1. Such a compelling character has never been written. No cheap 'off camera development' for her, nope...
 
That's a much better list. Spike is one spot higher (still not perfect), and Kamina is not only on it, but in the top 10. I recently realized I meant to put him as my nuraber 2 instead of nuraber 3, but what can you do? The nuraber 2 I ended up going with was Mugen, and he didn't even place. Oh well, most of his characteristics that make me like him that much are already covered by Spike. I didn't even put Luffy on my list, but he was one of my honorable mentions, along with Goku.
 
You read my mind, but I suppose that's the way things turned out. I guess having at least one LOGH character on the list is alright.

Like I've mentioned before, this was a fun little exercise so it's good to finally see the results. I'm not going to argue over the relative positions, one way or another, but at the very least it's nice to see that quite a few different tastes and interests are represented.
 
Well, this list turned out better than I expected it to be. I don't find it much of a suprise that Luffy is nuraber one on the list considering how well loved One Piece is here. Also am I the only finRAB it amusing that no matter what Goku and Spike are STILL in the top five just like the IGN list?
 
Come on now, Its just the natural of things, if those guys dint make the top 5 in any top anime character list id have to suspect there were some nefarious forces at work or something. It just has to happen that way.
 
It was a pretty close race between Spike and Goku for #s 2 and 3. I was kinda surprised: I thought there would be more backlash against Goku since so many people didn't think he deserved #1 in the IGN list.

The margin between Luffy and Goku was kinda huge, though. (-:
