Presenting toonzone's Top 25 Anime of All Time!

Hmm....30 episodes. That's not really enough to get into the major arcs then.

I'd at least watch until the really important one the Benizakura arc (actually there's a pretty big one even earlier than that). I'd akin the Benizakura arc to the Arlong arc of One Piece as in, usually it's that one that hooks people but hey, I'm not forcing.

It's episodic the same way Detective Conan is episodic as in, there's daily comedic stuff but like every other month or so, they make much longer plot-driven arcs.

The best part about Gintama is that usually during those arcs they manage to balance their comedy with complete seriousness and I know normally that doesn't come out well, (trust me, I was reluctant) Sorachi has found a way to make it work.

(There's also a lot of kickass fight sequences too)

Read the whole post. He says, and I agree, it's mainly full of complaints and criticisms rather than complements and condolences.

You could probably say the same for the Bleach thread at certain weeks.

^^I did read the whole post, but complaints & criticism does not equal dislike. (do you agree that TZ doesn't like Naruto?)

Well there's that thread that's devoted to the edits on naruto shippiden on disney xd, and the talkback (s) about its airing on disney xd, and how about the current manga thread (the latest of the manga threaRAB that usually close after like 2 thousand posts or something like that), and the one for the anime too. I think that counts as multiple.

Im pretty sure that TZ likes Naruto despite the complaints it has about it (which i acknowledge do obviously exist).

The anime thread hasn't been active for at least 5 months. That is what we're talking about. The edit thread is discussing more about the edits than the show itself.

Look, the argument was that Naruto isn't favored enough to be top 25, not that it's disliked by all. Squabbling beyond that is off-topic.

Well, it did air on Toonami and was probably the gateway series for most of us posting here today. I know in my case its the only Gundam series I cared for.

I'm not at all satisfied with seeing Gurran Lagann so high, but I wasn't surprised either.

I wonder how different this list would have been had there been some better clarification on whether movies counted or not, since there's an awful scarcity of movies on the list.

???It was last active like 9 days ago dude (the one for season 4 of shippuden).

So i misread the argument, my bad (), i just focused on "TZ doesnt like Naruto", sorry.

Pretty much, but technically only 3 of them have never been on American TV at all (including premium channels like the FUNimation Channel, the Anime Network, and Starz). Gintama, at nuraber 20, is the only anime on the list that hasn't been licensed. You hear that, anime companies? One of our 20 favorite anime is just waiting to be licensed. FMA: Brotherhood, at nuraber 24, is being dubbed, will be released next year, will hopefully be on Adult Swim, and, at the very least, will probably be on the FUNimation Channel. Baccano!, also at nuraber 24, will probably air on the FUNimation Channel at some point.

Bebop, One Piece, and YYH rounding out the top 3? Ouran actually making the list? Geass and 00 making appearances? I approve, TZ (because fangirl approval is important ). Well played.

And the serious arcs grow more intense as they appear. Benizakura was OMG, Itou was ASDFGHJKLOMG!!!! Also a tearjerker. Yoshiwara was ASDFGHJKERTFVUKHGYKJUHGZOOOOOMMMMMG!!! And it leaves off on a rather ominous note. Jiraya arc wasn't quite so intense, but it seemed to be more of a side trip to maybe set things up for later. Brutal fight though - and gorgeous expiramentation with black and white and heavy inking /artgeek>.

Then there's semi-serious stuff scattered around here and there. The Android arc starts out comedic but enRAB on a bittersweet note, uh... Umibozu's kind of the same way. Mitsuba - oh geeze Mitsuba is so sad...

Serious appear every fifty some odd chapters in the manga so we're due for some serious business in about a dozen chapters. Semi-serious stuff appears randomly though.

And, believe it or not, there is some continuity to the humor as well, but it's a bit more leisurely. Sorachi/Sunrise are far better with their continuity than Kubo/Perriot.

Well, technically this is a list of the top 29 anime of all time, but I'll let it slide...

All right list. There's some series on there I haven't seen but should check out. But my One Piece fanboyism runneth over with pride to see it nuraber two.

Wing's popularity is based on nostalgia and nothing else.

Ugh, Geass scored high. I really feel it's the same as Wing in the flash hiding a ton of problems.

Yay Bebop and One Piece!

Wow, this is avatar central right here...

It's nice to see that Detective Conan/Case Closed is still fans 23rd favourite series after 5 years :P

Also, I think the reason most people didn't vote for the Miazaki movies was because we all know they are great and fantastic products and some of the most well known too. It's more interesting to vote for the other products made since they haven't been as popular, like One Piece is only extremely popular in Japan.

Shame that BECK didn't the list and shocked that BoBoBo did but otherwise, that was a pretty good list.

Considering Wing was the only Gundam series to be a major success in America I'd say it deserves it's place at nuraber 14 on the list here more than any UC Gundam series and on more than just nostalgia.
