Damn i should have submitted a list so One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest could be a bit higher

Damn it. No time this evening.

I PROMISE 20 movies when I before I get off of my next shift (Get in at 10PM CDT on Thursday and leave on Friday at 5am)

So by Friday morning, when you're first waking up, you should see another 20 movies knocked out, leaving only 40 remaining.
 
Sounds good Badger. People send in their top 20s and you award their 1st choice with 20 points, 2nd with 19 points, and so on until 20th place which would get 1 point. You should give people time to put the list together though, at least a month, maybe a little longer. Suggest you start a new thread, call it "MoFo Top 100 Part III" or something. And you could always make it a top 25, or even 30, it's up to you now.

This time around though I'm going to leave out a couple of the more obscure films that have no chance of making the list to give a boost to some of the other ones that while they may not be in my top 20 I still like them a lot more than others that found their way onto this list.

Great last 5 movies, though I thought One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest would be higher. That movie is fantastic in so many ways. Bested only by the book
 
Still think 2001 is too high, can't argue with the rest.


Oh wait, Clerks? Yeah, way too high.
 
As far as inaccuracies go, this is a film, not a historical document.

Oh, and nice to see Dr. Strangelove and A Clockwork Orange so high.
 
I only have a few comments.

Children of Men is not the best film you've seen in the last 5 years. It's the best film that was made in the last 5 years.

L.B., holy Christ get watching. The best films on there are exactly the ones you haven't seen. That is, except for Children of Men!

LotR as a Trilogy is too much to rate. When you group it all together, the collective mistakes throughout end up shaving off a point (9/10). When you grade each separately however, they are each 10/10. The Return of the King is the best out of the Trilogy IMO. I think Jackson intended it to be. It is the finale after all.

Forest Gump was a failure. Shindler's List was a failure. No Country for Old Men is highly overrated. Why not Barton Fink or Fargo for christsake? Those are much, much stronger efforts.

TDK? Entertaining, solid little film, but wtf ABOVE The Good, The Bad, And the Ugly? TDK WAS TG, TB, ATU in Gotham for crying out loud.

The Godfather is the most overrated film of all time.

North by Northwest is nothing compared to probably one of the top 3 best films of all time Vertigo.

The Blues Brothers was a failure.
