Popular cartoons that you never got into

Avatar: While I enjoy the show now at the peak of its popularity I wasn't a fan. Its fanbase was the thing that made me stay away. The over hype the show got just got on my nerves. That and people constantly saying it wasn't an anime ripoff when clearly it was a wannabe Shonen anime. Like I said I like the show now alot but I wont put it on a pedistole like some of its fans do.

Nicktoon or Cartoon Cartoon show to be shown the past few reacent years: Since I got older I dont really care for animated comedy shows geared towards kids So I dont get excited about Spongebob or Chowder. I now prefer action cartoons and anime and animated comedy thats geared towards an older audiance like Venture Bros, Family Guy, Duckman, and South Park.

Hard to get offended when I don't even know what "babyish" is supposed to mean in regards to SpongeBob. Explain? Sure it has. Luanne's gotten pregnant and had birth. Peggy's changed jobs a couple times. Joseph underwent puberty. Cotton died. Buckley died. Bobby and Connie broke up. John Redcorn stopped sleeping with Nancy. I could go on and on, but hopefully you get the idea.

Care to explain a bit more because I honestly don't see that many similarities in either show.

I agree with Mickialla on Invader Zim. I could never get myself to watch an entire episode. It just felt like it was trying too hard to be funny, like that kid in class who would do stupid stuff for a couple laughs. The humor, the pacing, the art style, it all just felt like it was an extended Newgrounds toon.

Ren and Stimpy, Cow and Chicken, Courage the Cowardly Dog, etc.: I couldn't, and still can't, stand that gross-out humour.

South Park: The mean-spirited feel of the show was off-putting.

The Tick: Never understood the appeal.

I couldn't get into Bleach. Those dubbed voices are so stiff and unenthused. The irony is I hate Bosch's voice for Ichigo, but have no problem with him voicing Lelouch in Code Geass.

Agreed. A lot of people like Samurai Jack, and I will admit it was fun to watch at first, but after a while it started getting incredibly boring.

I'm a girl, and I agree that Winx Club and Bratz are BOTH awful. Winx Club was just painful to watch IMO, I'm not sure how it got decent reception.

Never watched WITCH, but I read a short comic of it... didn't interest me that much. I guess the magical girl genre only interested me when I was younger, now it's just incredibly overdone and stupid to me.

Whoever mentioned Danny Phantom, I whole heartedly agree with. First few episodes were okay, but then the show started taking itself WAAAAY too seriously for my tastes. Plus the characters were so incredibly unlikeable. :/

Scooby Doo was overplayed WAAAY too much in the 90's when I was a kid. It was played so much that I can't even enjoy the newer stuff that comes out with the character.

Rugrats was an okay show way back in the day, but to me it quickly got boring plus Nick overplayed that like they relied heavily on it. Kinda like they are doing with Spongebob now.The show was bad before, but the inclusion of Dil sealed the nail in the coffin for me the the point it was UNBEARABLE.

Hey Arnold I could never really get into. As mentioned by other people Arnold was WAY too goody two shoes for my liking. The better episodes in my opinion are the ones where Arnold isn't prominent.

Teen Titans was pretty annoying to me as well. The style for the characters wasn't to my taste as well, I don't really care for Anime but I do indeed love superhero shows...the two mixing together, eh...no.

Ren & Stimpy - Gross humor never sits well with me, and this show drips it.

Spongebob - Same as above.

Naruto - I've just never been interested, and the way people go on about it, I'm kinda already sick of it.

ANY of the Batman/Spiderman/Super Hero series.

B: TAS, I guess. Though I didn't really get to see much of it, I didn't really think what I saw was as godly as people tout it... and, honestly, the show deserving of as much praise as is heaped on this show has yet to be made.

South Park: Something about it annoys me, don't know what it is.

Invader Zim: Like a previous poster said, too dark.

Gargoyles: Lack of availability (besides the DVDs and other, questionable options), also a bit too serious for my tastes.

I agree. I've watched a lot of W.I.T.C.H. and I don't see any of this sugar and fluff Beat claims plagues the show. Beat, have you actually seen an episode or are you basing this completely off the premise or merchandise?

Reboot. I respect it for being the first fully computer animated show out there, but even back then I hated the character models and thought they were stiff and lifeless. I could never get into the show.

Samurai Jack is another. Visually, it was outstanding, but story wise? It was a total bore. It felt like nothing ever happened in the show and every episode seems to have eight minutes of repeating the same thing over and over to fill up time. Samurai Jack was all style and no substance.

Batman: TAS is a very fine show in all respects, but the main reason people place it so high above every other American action cartoon is probably because it came out in a time where most such shows were just light-hearted kiddy-fare, and in comparison to to those shows, it was a true masterpiece.
