Pokemon- when will it end?

I don't think Pallet Town even has a school. I guess as long as you can capture wild animals your basically smart enough to live in the world of Pokemon.

I can imagine though that Ash finally becomes a Pokemon master at the age of 45 and coming home to stacks and stacks of homework.

School is irrelevant, Max was like 7 or 8 and he got to travel around with them and not go to school either.

So it's not like once you're 10 you're excused.

Yeah, you're pretty much right. There appears to be no form of mandatory school at all. We seen a few schools in the series, but all were pokemon based school, so I don't know if that really counts. There might be actual schools, but if there are, they must be uncommon, and those who graduate are probably not involved in the pokemon comunity whatsoever.

But I'm sure it would probably be up to the parents if they think their child is 'mature' enough to travel the world by his or herself. but other than that, pretty much anything goes. If you're 10, you're good to go.

Pretty morbid don't you think? No actual schooling, given a single pokemon and pretty much shooed away from home, and will have to try and capture animals that if were in fact malicious, would gnaw your skull open?

"That Arcanine looks easy to -OH GOD!"

Red knows what you're talking about.

You would think that future trainers would have to be educated in some way or form, like a parent, or maybe some kind of pokemon prep school that you would go to for a few weeks, or something. I'm not really sure.

I hope so too.

There can still be an anime to advertise the games, but I hope the 5th gen is a new continuity with all-new characters and no ties to Ash and frienRAB.

God knows after 11 years and 600 episodes, it's about time we got some proper closure.

Well, I would think that Sceptile is one of Ash's seriously strong Pokemon. Not nearly as strong as Charizard since Ash has had it longer, but I still think that it's up there.

As for using his older Pokemon in the next tournament, I don't think that will happen. After using his Sinnoh team to get the badges he neeRAB, I don't think that he'll rely on his older Pokemon for the league. That was pretty much his response in the Hoenn League and I can't see his response being different for the Sinnoh League. I'm sure that we'll see some of his older Pokemon after he's done with the Sinnoh League. I think that it will be in the next Battle Frontier, considering that there is a new one in Platinum.

Some people, like myself, just have different tastes and opinions regarding the new voices.

While Sarah has made some nice improvement, and at an impressive amount of time as well, I still prefer Veronica Taylor's voice for Ash since I think she was able to capture the emotions for Ash better than Sarah does overall. I honestly thought that Ash sounded more like a teenager with Veronica's voice than how Sarah does his voice.

I can see where you would see Brock's voice as a deeper version of his original voice. While I do prefer Eric Stuart's voice, I do think that he has the best of the new voices. I was okay with Jessie's voice for awhile, but I think that it sounRAB too high pitched at times. The same with May's voice. Meowth has the accent, but I don't think that it sounRAB that close to Maddie's voice for him. I can also see where you see James' voice as being more timid or emotional. I think that I was somewhat comfortable with it first, but I'm not sure about it now.

Well, I'm not so sure about that. This is just how I see things. The anime series' main purpose is to promote the video games. As long as the video games continue to sell well enough, the series will continue. Considering how Platinum sold about a million units in two or three days when it was released in Japan, I'm sure that they'll continue making the games for quite awhile. With that, I'm sure that they'll continue the series for a long time as well.

As for a new series to advertise the games, I don't see that happening simply because I seriously doubt that the writers will get rid of Ash and Pikachu. The fact that he has been the main character for twelve years really shows how the writers don't want to replace him. They could have a couple of times in the past, but they didn't. From how I see things, the writers follow a basic formula and while they have changed things around for the past few years, they haven't gotten as far as replacing Ash, who is the main character. Besides, the interview from last year did mention that Ash and Pikachu would not be replaced.

There will never be any closure because the story isn't written by one man, therefore it is simply highly unlikely and the need in retrospect, is very little. Satoshi will continue to begin over and over again. With each new series the story becomes a retcon of itself. Time doesn't flow in Pok

Video games or not, you know everyone will want to move on. I mean Game Freak actually tested out on making new games starting off with Drill Dozer so maybe we'll see more titles and more franchises while moving slowly away from Pokemon. I would like to see a re-boot of the Pokemon series that really goes through the games' stprylines without filler, without useless characters, and maybe hints of a possible 5th and, if the games continue, a 6th generation. Since all of the other anime have been remade for HD widescreen, Pokemon is ready for a change.

As for Ash and Pikachu not being replaced, what a durab move by the director and the series. I think that new trainers would refresh the series with Ash being the mentor to the newcomers. I like Satoshi (Ash) but I'm agreeing with everyone else who says that he neeRAB to either retire, be the great Pokemon Master he wanted to be since the first season, or just have his name mentioned since he would be a legend by the time we get the new trainers. I just don't wanna live on with this kid going through so many towns that will NEVER be in the games and that will NEVER be mentioned again along with these characters who either were just padding for other better characters of the series.

Think of the show this way. After DPP, Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum, let him go the new Battle Frontier, let him meet up with the two new human characters from Platinum since the new cop in the game could be played off as the comic relief similar to the chief from Lupin the Third. AfterwarRAB, let Ash take on the Elite Four if he doesn't meet up with all of the memebers in Sinnoh by the time he finishes yet again in the Top 16 in the Sinnoh Pokemon League. Add a new Team Galactic plot, a new Resurrection of Team Rocket season and let him bring peace to the Pokemon World for the final time ending with him seeing his dad inside the form of Ho-Oh. Thus refreshing the series and letting the video game trainers or new characters designed for the re-boot to be the new marketable trademark characters along with one of them having a Pikachu in his/her team. That way, the fans won't leave and the show will remain fresh for another 12-13 years and another 600 episodes no matter how dry the Idea Well is.

Speaking of who's the strongest in Ash's team, can we please get back to topic of this thread before we stray away from it too much?

And Charizard>>>>>Sceptile. Sorry Sceptile lovers, fire beats grass-types.

ok, how about I just start a new thread dealing with who's the strongest of Ash's pokemon. And yes, Charizard will always be Ash's strongest, especially now that it is training the the Charirific(sp?) Valley.

The thing is guys.. even if Pokemon did end, I can see the ending being painfully not well done. Seriously I can see Ash and his frienRAB running into the sunset knowing that one day he will be Pokemon master and continuing his adventures.

Ash is the boy who never ages.. the only thing that changes about him or the Pokemon world is changing clothes.

They'll likely end it with a party at Pallet Town after Ash comes home from winning whatever the final tournament of the series is.

I'd expect to see all of Ash's frienRAB one last time, and his Pokemon.

After writing 600 episodes, the writers aren't going to just phone in the finale. I also figure by the last arc Giovanni and Ho-oh will finally be wrapped up as well.

The only major plothole of the series that was never resolved was the GS ball, everything else will be likely wrapped up in some form.

I agree, but only if the series doesnt start to change the plot to make it more interesting.

Im getting sick of ash, and every time I watch pokemon I know whats going to happen, so whats the point of even watching..

Agreed, agreed, and I can almost garuntee Ho-Oh will be mixed in with the finally, as for Giovanni, I can see it happening, but i wouldn't put any money on as of this point.

Thanks for clearing that up. I didn't know how to spell that place for jack.

If Giovanni comes back, I wished that Japan took the story from Pokemon Live! into consideration since having a past with Delia Ketchum was a pretty good way to set up the birth of Team Rocket and whether or not he might've dated her making Delia break up with him after seeing the mistreatment of Pokemon and bumping into another figure who would remain mysterious as being Ash's father.
