Pokemon- when will it end?

I think that you've made some good and interesting points here. However, I also think that we're missing something important here.

Pokemon is not aimed at the people who have been watching since the beginning. One of the reasons Ash has started over since AG is so that new kiRAB that get into the series probably would have an easier time getting into the series. Although, Pokemon never has been rocket science before so it isn't that hard to get into anyway.

Anyway, while I'm sure that the writers are aware that people above the target age watch and enjoy Pokemon, I doubt that they really consider them when they're in the process of making an episode. While I do understand why people think that Ash should be replaced, the main reason for that is because some people here, like myself, have watched him for ten years. However, there are also some kiRAB who are just getting to see Ash for the first time. So, he's basically new to the kiRAB who are just getting into Pokemon and/or who haven't been into it as long as some of us have been.

One other reason why I don't think that they'll replace Ash is because they can mention his past sagas and older Pokemon whenever they want to focus on older generation Pokemon, much like when he gather Bulbasaur, Charizard and Squritle for the last Battle Frontier battle. I don't think that the writers could do that as easily with new main characters.

I actually think that they have been changing things around with the characters and the plot since AG, but that was mainly because of how Ash made his team and the introduction of Pokemon Contests with May. If you do feel that way about the show, then I think that you could easily stop watching it. If you're not enjoying it, then I don't think you should force yourself to watch it. I still enjoy it and love it after watching it for years, but that's just me.

Yeah, that would definatily be interesting. I can see Ash's father as being some type of mysterious hero, but on the other hand, I can also see Giovanni being Ash's father. Maybe Delia divorced Giovanni soon after Ash was born, so Giovanni didn't really reconize Ash and Ash has no idea who his father really was. And I know the Adventure Manga has Silver being Giovanni's son, but who said the series had to follow the Manga. It could happen. It would be interesting either way, perhaps more if Giovanni did turn out to be Ash's father.

The truth...... it BURNS...

That one of the good things about keeping Ash around. You sometimes get those refrences to his older days. And don't you think it would feel a little repetive if for each new generation, we got a new cast. Think about it, they would all have to go though the same learning curve that Ash did at the begining. At least with Ash always there, he has experience (even though he doesn't always show it).

Off-Topic: Well this same idea was what I thought to myself when it came to Jake Long's origins and the possibility of Dark Dragon being a shapeshifter and marrying his mom before she and Lao Shi moved to NYC where she met up with Jonathan and by the time they got married, Jake and Hailey were born.

Back On-Topic: So if we don't find out the true identity of Ash's father, he would be the new Racer X until he's fully revealed in a live-action adoptation of the series.

I wished Japan would go back and play around with what the fans wanted between Giovanni and Ash since the very beginning of Team Rocket entering in the Pokemon world. Then again, the creators, artists, producers, and directors moved on to bigger and more boring ways of adding more to Ash's story. All we can do is wait and hope that the Ash/Giovanni mafia connection could be brought up in the show.

Another way to re-amp the show is to pull a Dragonball Kai on us and either re-tell Ash's story in 5 or so minutes as an introduction of one of the Pokemon LegenRAB leading up to the new adventures of an all new trainer or just talk about the early adventures of Ash and Team Rocket leading up to Ash meeting up with Jessie, James, and Meowth in the same episode.

Actually...No. Simple as that.

Honestly? The series doesn't feel repetitive at all to me. It's formula behind Pokemon is consistent and trustworthy, yes (afterall, it's kept the show on the air this long afterall...nuff said), but that is quite different from being "repetitive and boring".

I wish the writers would listen to what the fans had to say, but they aren't very conserned about that. And i'm sure most people would want to see some sort of story develop between Ash and Giovanni, but I'm not sure the writers want to make the show that serious.
