Pokemon the Movie 12 (Third Diamond and Pearl Movie)

That is true, but the longer the show goes on, the harder it is to get back into it. Even if you skip a saga, you feel as if you missed something, or at least I do.

I've watched maybe... five or six episodes since early Hoenn, and I feel perfectly normal popping in whenever I hear about an interesting episode. Admittantly I know about a lot more than the casual viewer - who Ash's new rival is, what's on his current team, and so on - but Pokemon, on the whole, isn't very big on continuity, making it VERY easy to watch episodes without missing a beat. So long as you know the basics, of course.

It's that time of year again, where the first major info for the upcoming movie in the Pokemon series becomes available.

All the tidbits we know so far:Will feature the Sinnoh dragon legendaries Dialga, Palkia, and GiratinaMight explain the conflict between them in the previous Diamond and Pearl moviesWill feature the last promo legend for the 4th gen, ArceusA 5th gen electric type Pokemon is hinted... er scratch that, it's just a female Pichu with a funny ear.Location in the movie will be based on Greek temples, namely some monasteries in Meteora.Heatran will be in the movie. This was hinted in some merchandise for the movie. The Johto starters, Cyndaquil, Totodile, and Chikorita will also make an appearance. Does the addition of three 2nd-Gen Pokemon mean Gold/Silver/Crystal remakes?Title is something like "Arceus: To the Conquering of Space-Time". Based on the Bulbapedia translation.
So discuss away (well anything besides 'they're making another one?')

Well, from what I read about the 11th Movie (I haven't spoiled myself just yet) it seems like the upcoming movie continues off of the pervious movie (10). So It seems that for the first time, all three of these movie will be loosely connected to each other. Unlike the pervious movie that are just random major episodes featuring legerdaries.

From the ears, I say that the new electric type is a cat. That would be good considering that the Tom and Jerry in the Pokemon universe is a bit tiring.

Opinion on this 5th Gen Pokemon: We don't need ANY more Pokemon because I love the games but I'm sick of catching the little buggers. Plus the games need to step it up since some fans would like to play in the worlRAB of the films.

The films also need better storylines because even with the beautiful art, there are:
1)No villains that could leap from the films to the TV series. i mean give the kiRAB a challenge; a villain that would make the little kiRAB wet their pants whenever they see his/her face.

2)Some of the special Pokemon especially the ones that can talk only serve the purpose of bringing kiRAB to see the films so they can go "OMGZ Talking Pokemons! I want one!"

3)Are we ever gonna get a movie in which it would be the series finale of the Satoshi (Ash) universe? I'm ready to move on with a better trainer who doesn't waste 12 seasons getting only 60 Pokemon and missing out on opportunities on catching the legendary ones from the movies.

In fact, the director called movie 10, 11, and 12 a trilogy. In the first film, Palkia and Dialga met. In the second film, Girantina enters. Finnaly, in the third, all three fight, with Arceus entering. After that, the films will stop the "god pokemon" fights.

Exactly. That's the whole point of the new games. If they didn't bring in new Pokemon for the new games, the new games in the main series that is, it probably wouldn't be as interesting for some of the kiRAB. That doesn't count for the spin-off games like Mystery Dungeon or Pokemon Ranger since they are only side-line kind of games. Besides, I believe a fifth generation was long confirmed before this news came around.

I find that extremely doubtful. After having Ash for twelve seasons, its far too late to really replace him. Besides that, I don't think that they would feel comfortable with replacing Ash since that also means getting rid of Pikachu, the mascot of the whole franchise, which is something the writers wouldn't want to mess with. I never thought that Ash should of caught any of the legendaries from the movies. Most of, if not all, of the legendary Pokemon he's connected with were better off free than with a trainer or they had to stay where they were for a purpose, such as Latias.

As for the whole thing of becoming a Pokemon Master, I thought that its been long established that it isn't like in the game of catching every single Pokemon in existence. That's how it felt like in season one, but that was when the series was just getting started and they have mentioned in the series how its impossible to know every single kind of Pokemon. Plus, they've never really made a good definition of what it takes to be a Pokemon Master in the series so they could simply continue on what they have vaguely established for a long time. It works for me and it obviously seems to work for the kiRAB Pokemon is generally targetted at.

Anyway, I'm glad to hear that we'll be seeing a new Pokemon soon. I think I saw a bit of its ear behind that huge question mark, but it could have been something else. I'm not sure if its a cat, but that would be kind of cool. Shinx is an electric cat, but more like an electric lion cub. Anyway, I'll be looking foreword to seeing more news about this movie hopefully later this week.

If there is a remake of G/S, which I really, really hope there is, I think it would come before the fifth generation games. They might use that time to have another Battle Frontier kind of arc set in Johto since there is a large gap between the fourth and fifth generations. Of course, I could be completely wrong and the remakes could come after the fifth generation, but I think that it all depenRAB on what they have planned for the anime after Sinnoh.

As for the names, I think that they have quite a few colors and jewel names left. I still would love a Pokemon Jade name. That's what I originally was hoping for with the fourth generation games.

I understand why you would want that, but I also seriously doubt that the writers would want to change too much of the Ash and Pikachu formula. Besides that, I don't think that the writers really think that their audience has been sitting through the series since the start. The audience for Pokemon constantly changes, which is why it is fairly easy to get into in each new generation.

I think that the main reason for comparing Ash with someone like Homer Simpson, in terms of the whole replacement argument, is because Ash has been part of the series for so long and has been the main character this whole time, it just feels like too big of a risk to get rid of his character.

You are right in terms of other anime series starting off with new characters. Such is the case for one of my favorite series, Yu-Gi-Oh!, but I think that the difference is that those series rely more on a firm storyline than Pokemon generally does.

From what I figure of it, the series obviously advertise the games, which are also clearly successful in both the U.S. and Japan. As long as the games sell well enough, the series will continue and I can see Ash staying there that whole time as well. I honestly can't see the games not selling well anytime soon, especially with the sales Plantium had in Japan, so I can't see the series going away anytime soon either.

Maybe if you put on a heavy importance on continuity that would happen, but Pokemon doesn't have a deep storyline that's hard for new kiRAB to get into. They do have references to past sagas now and then as well. As I mentioned earlier, the series is suppose to be easy to get into for the new kiRAB that can get interested in the series as the years go by.

As for the actual news, I'm not too surprised that Arceus is in the movie. That does make it really interesting as to how a battle could turn out. As for making more tough legendaries, I'm sure that they have some ideas for the fifth generation legendaries.

I was surprised though with the three Johto starters. That came out of nowhere, though maybe the special Pichu should have been a giveaway too. Still, if the Johto starters aren't a sign of a G/S remake for the RAB, please let it be so, then I don't know what is. I'll be happy to hear more about this movie when it comes out.

Mew was the rarest pokemon in the world, but that probably isn't the case anymore. Well I pretty sure very VERY few people have seen Arceus, but because of it's size, if it's in the area, then you would proabably have seen it. As for Mew, it's so small that it would probably be pretty easy to miss. Plus the fact that it can change it's form into any pokemon in the world (according to Movie 8).

That's a good question. I think that I read in a Pokemon guide once that since Mew can learn any kind of attack, it is believed to be the ancestor of all Pokemon. That would make sense, I guess.
