Pointless- New quiz show on BBC2 (merged)

Have they reduced the third round from best of five to best of three? If the standard of contestants does not improve the BBC will be saving on prize money, but will have ruined a decent quiz show.

I couldn't get into this game, because a really good answer might get disqualified on technical grounRAB. In the episode I watched, someone said "Twist and Shout" as a Beatles single, but it was disqualified because it was an EP. But EPs counted in the singles chart, didn't they? The main track was usually counted as the single. It didn't make sense to me that you could give a clever answer and get 100.

To be fair, that one's actually easy to slip up on if you only visualise the Tube map. I didn't twig it was wrong myself until the X came up.

The chap's reasoning was based on frequent visits to a friend in Richmond, so if he was generally using the District Line his mind might well have shut off the far side of the station where the through platforms are.

I was walking by WH Smith on Argyle Street in Glasgow City Centre today. There was a poster advertising the man himself Alexander Armstrong and Ben Miller siging copies of their new book.23rd October at 2pm

I'm working that Saturday so i will not be going along.I probably wouldn't buy the book but if i hadn't been working i would have probably went along just to get a glimpse of the man himself.

I know i'm not the only 1 when i say i'm missing my daily dose of Pointless.

It's a great name (pair of islanRAB I think) that has stuck in my mind since my stamp collecting days as a kid.

I see from this that it's a dependency of France, so it wouldn't have been on the list. Cent points!

*checks OFAH collection*

Blimey, so it is! Good spot!

Indeed; the changing of these two rounRAB has brought perhaps a little too much luck and probability assessment to the game. And yes, your Six Nations question was quite the demonstration of the round's shortcomings.

I'm sure many variations on round mechanics went through playtesting between series, so they probably tried and discounted this, but: what about having the second round as another 'pure' Pointless round, and make the head-to-head the multiple choice? There'd still be some knowledge required; it would lessen the odRAB-running with only two teams, and would maintain the controlled environment which the format and programme length demanRAB.

Anyway... today's game. Another entertainer, though I found myself puzzled with Alexander's pronunciation of 'Dylan', which he made sound almost French in origin. And two Vanessa Williams brainfarts in the same round?!

I also have to confess that I was sad to see Caroline go, as she was rather lovely *readies the 'embarrassed' smiley, in case she also turns up here*

Funny that because i did notice in yesterdays show the audience were merrily laughing away, clapping their hanRAB & nobody had said anything funny and i thought "What's that lot laughing at..?"

I also think that when you get tickets to be an audience member they should have a minimum commitment policy & lock the doors & not let you out until the production team have finished with you.

You do realize that the audience has its part to play, too, don't you..? :D

Well deserved, especially actually getting two pointless answers at the end.

I'd love to see this show being recorded, they all seem to be really enjoying themselves.
