Pointless- New quiz show on BBC2 (merged)

Yes, well-played. Is the trophy as naff as it looks on TV? If I were going on Pointless I would certainly mug up a few lists for the final round. Oscars, Nobel Prizewinners, Booker Prizewinners etc. However, the woman with the folder of lists did win the jackpot because she had read lots of Grisham novels, not because of rote learning.
 
If they're not picked in five shows they're taken off. I can't help wondering if American Football is the same question as the 'US Sports' topic that didn't get picked earlier in the series.
 
I wonder if the people they ask, (if indeed they do ask anyone,) spend so much time trying to think of the obscure answers that they forget to put down the obvious ones.
 
I thought they have done the presidential losers in a previous series. If I remember correctly Walter Mondale was pointless the last time, but not on this occasion. The squares question had some tough answers.

Dawn and Ross, today's winners, were in the green room with me (I should be on on Thursday) and they seemed super, well-prepared. Dawn had a massive coloured coded binder full of lists!!! Everyone was trying to sneak a look when she went to the loo! :eek:

East 17 songs? I could only name 3: stay another day, if you ever and hold my body tight (which turned out to be pointless). I cant help but wonder if that was the 90's boyband question.
 
Ah but then they would have too many winners.

I also went to one of the double recordings, good fun. Alexander Armstrong gave away one of the answers so they had to ban the contestants from using it!
