Pointless- New quiz show on BBC2 (merged)

He improved the design of the plough, so you were half right!

I immediately thought of "horse hoeing husbandry", which had stuck in my mind from history lessons, but that was actually a book he wrote.

He also invented a horse-drawn hoe, so what would have happened if one of the contestants had given that as an answer instead of seed drill?

It does annoy me that there are so many questions about football. In the last series there seemed to be more variety in the catagories. I also wondered why there are so many questions on TV and films. I quite like the new format otherwise.

Richard is excellent, I love his dry sense of humour.

I've only seen 2 pairs opt to go second in the head-to-head and the tactic failed badly for yesterday's players. I see no advantage in going second, other than possibly more time to think of your first answer, but I guess it's nice to have the choice.

I think the point of coming back up the line is to make the game fairer. The pair which go first when all answers are available have this advantage cancelled out by the disadvantage of going last when a lot of their answers may have gone.

I like this idea.

I keep being reminded of how poor my film knowledge is when 20-30 of 100 people can name obscure films but only 1 knew Richard Farleigh was a dragon

Personally I think it makes it more exciting when the prize is only won rarely but I guess it's bad for the contestants

I like the idea of keeping categories that aren't picked, come on international flags.

I absolutely adored Jamie and Michael too. Clearly Alexander and Richard did too.

The "jizz" moment was priceless - esp. when he then blamed it on his sheepish boyfriend. And, perhaps getting perilously close to the bone, the audience ate it up!

Sorry they didn't when the big jackpot on Friday. The T-shirts were just...so cute.

They were great contestants, loved their humour.

I really enjoy Pointless - I'm still at work when it's on so watch it on iPlayer. Frankly I think it's good enough to be on in the evening anyway.

I've liked most of the contestants they've had so far too - practically unheard of in today's quiz shows, I'm usually rooting for people to lose. :D

Aah, perhaps it was the other way round and he said Chanel Four and was corrected to BBC2. I wasn't paying that much attention at the time. He actually said the same thing about the baby being born and it addling his brain. :)

I used to love this programme but it truly has become 'pointless' with the new format.

Might as well ask the contestants what their names are:rolleyes:

No. :(

Crappy Western until 3 pm, then even worse Diagnosis Murder, then Flog It! at the usual time and Final Score on at 4.30 until 5.05 pm followed by live football.
