Pointless- New quiz show on BBC2 (merged)

Thought the question was fairly simple, I don't like American Football but I can come up with a few names.

Shame that Richard didn't reveal the other pointless answers at the end. (If there were any)
 
How come this hasn't gone down the way of EggheaRAB, Mastermind, Masterchef, etc... and pandered to the z-list market?

They shouldn't have to look too far to find some "Pointless Celebrities" :D
 
Yes and these "PROFESSIONAL" tv show contestants really annoy me - i have tried unsuccessfully over the last 10 years to get on about 7 shows without luck - yet they keep picking the same people. I remember reading in the 90s about a woman who had been on 12 different gameshows all on UK TV or radio and won over
 
I found him funnier on "Armstrong and Miller," than on Pointless and I enjoyed the Pimms adverts (I think "Pimms o'clock" will remain in the English vernacular for quite sometime :)). Flyboy11 and Flyboy9 like him on Sarah-Jane too.
 
I won the jackpot yesterday! Well I would have done if I'd been there. For some reason, an awful long time ago, I learned the countries that lie along the equator and never forgot. Surprised they had a category where there were so few posibilities though, usually there are lots of pointless answers but only three yesterday.
 
I surprised myself the day before as a non-Madonna fan getting "Rain" and "Another Suitcase in Another Hall" both pointless! Even got my housemate guessing in the end!
 
I thought the three options in the final were all stinkers.

1) Asterix (characters in the comic?)
2) American Football (Superbowl winners? Collegiate teams?)

How long do they stay on the board if not chosen?

Jess. I even thought your final choice was a stinker. I would have been ok to name obscure Best Film winners but to know if they had won five Oscars is a tall order.

I thought recent winners Crash and No Country for Old Men won Best picture and also best supporting actor/ ess (2) but to know if they won for director Original script / score editing ect.

Sadly never got passed the audition for this, though saying my partner & I met at an audition for another quiz show many many moons ago probably dident go down to well :eek:

Great show & I am sure you must have enjoyed the whole experience.
 
Did anyone notice how Alexander was all over Giselle today, I've not seen such a sleazy display by a quiz show host since the 70s.
 
International Flags was National flags with only red or white on them. Should be on the iPlayer if you want to watch it!

Weirdly loaRAB of categories we revised before going on the show have actually come up! Mr Men books, James Bond (plus others) and now Roald Dahl books! I would've gone for Esio Trot.
