Great. You are the first person in this thread to actually say why it is good. Sounds like a good phone but enem't really sound revolutionary in my opinion.

No. Your video game comparison is not the same. You would have to compare xbox to ps3 to be the same comparison. Your way would be saying buy an iphone or no phone at all

i know saying it has to be better than every phone is retarted, but all these fanboys sayin it is revolutionary is also retarded, especially if they cant back it up with anything that is better except the screen.

and yes i do value mobile devices and media players very highly. i have had plenty of expensive phones, but your video game example is not the same

I have no problem with the phone or people buying the phone because they like it. Its when they think its some all new revolutionary phone with so many features that has never been done before is where im like wtf.

No you just say its a great phone or has a good browser but you never say what makes it any better than another phone

Well its a new OS to mobile phones, the best media player in a mobile phone, the most memory in a mobile phone etc. I wouldn't call it revolutionary, especially when the multi touch and hell even the name were taken from other products. But that doesn't dismiss its value in the market place or how well it works.

Yeah you were the only one that actually answered me. Thanks

dont want to waste the time with all the negative things i have heard about it

why is it so hard for anybody to tell me why it is so revolutionary? i am starting to think that it is just a normal phone with a nice screen that is supported by apple sack riders

you never said anything about the media player. what makes it so good? I would also take expanable memory over a fixed memory, but that is just me. I dont know why you are arguing with me if you agree that it is not revolutionary. i have just seen many people talking about how its so revolutionary and i was curious why

well you've also express hate over it in other threads.

use it and you'll see why the media player is soooo much better.

I already have to carry around CF cards and a couple sd cards for cameras, the last thing I want is more memory to carry when the idea is to be as portable and small as possible.

i don't think it's revolutionary either? but at the same token, i still don't think the ipod is revolutionary (and i own one, along with a powerbook). I do think though, that if offers something new and different to the phone market, which is deffinetly in my book!

i also feel that alot of this hype that apple products get are apple fanboys who like to take steve jobs words to the extreme. He is a great CEO, and by far one of the few CEO's who truly believes in his products, which is why at conferences, he promotes them to all hell. Of course apple is going to insist this is better than their competition, but SJ never said this would dominate the phone industry, hell, he even said, he just wants to break into the phone market. Truly, only time will tell how good this product will be.. it took the ipod to its 3rd generation to be something "successful," let's see how what the iphone can do...

the reason the browser is so different is that is a 'desktop class' browser. meaning that is able to render pages on the phone the same as your computer at home. Many phones have browsers on them but they offer limited support for web technologies such as ajax, css etc where as the phone supports these and renders pages as they were intended.

and 8gb SD cards are rare and overpriced, often they are the micro SD further screwing the consumer, so most use 2gb or under, meaning you need a couple cards, not to mention they're extremely incompatible with most devices

yeah but they are getting more capacity. there are 4gb mini sd cards and im sure 8gb will be out soon.

i have never had incompatibility issues with my memory cards.

I played with one and apparently those saying how "revolutionary" the browser is never used an 8125 or 8525. A fully functioning browser with zoom etc. etc. AND with java support has been used on these phones for awhile. As for the touch screen, again, the 8125 and 8525 has similar. Hell you can go get an iphone theme right now for either of them and use your fingers OR included stylus if you want. I had the iphone slide unlock on mine for about 4 months now.

With the 8125 I can swap batteries in seconds, I can pop the sim and switch phones in seconds and I can swap out memory cards in seconds. I oftentimes carried 3 spare batteries because there were many times in the field where there was no place to plug the phone in to recharge. Having to send a phone back into the factory or take it to a store just to replace a battery is a waste of time and money.

As for text messaging, after a few minutes of using the onscreen quasi keyboard, it was apparent that texting was not even a secondary thought. A real keyboard is a musthave if you do a ton of texting (or instant messaging which again iphone doesn't have)

It's a phone looking for a niche based on it's name and when you consider that while the first version is being sold, Apple is already working on a 2nd version, there are going to be a ton of first gens available on ebay for 100-200 bucks in about 8 months or so.
