it takes a while. Man, Im super excited. I just encoded a 730mb AVI file into 3gp and played it in my phone. It was super. Freaking super!

edit- how can I tell how big the output file will be using SUPER as the converter? Is there a formula?

I didn't send you a PM, but I feel I have the need to explain myself.

I am not a new guy in the area, I've liked and used Symbian for a long while, and Google is my main tool in the PC. Let me just clarify that I know where I can get SUPER, I am just in the quest to find out what are the best settings I should use for SUPER and/or SmartMovie to get the best video quality possible in my N90.

I wasn't directing that post towards you, or anyone else who has contributed to this thread... I guess I should explain MYSELF

Here lately, I've gotten about 100 pm's of various nature. I try to reply to them all, except the absolutely absurd ones. For example: Many asking about a ringtone file in one of the ringtone threads... The link on page 1 might have died, but the link has been replaced on page 9 or something like that... but they never got past page 1... and decided to pm me, and usually they have NO posts on the forum and just joined in order to send ME the pm. So I endup searching through the thread and giving them the direct link to the file in question, when if they would have read the thread - they could have found it themselves.

If you (or anyone) search for posts by me, and most of the higher post count members, we ALL post content to share, links to files, information and great sites... I have NO PROBLEM SHARING WHATSOEVER - Thats why I'm still an active member of this forum - TO SHARE.. I got like 15 or more PMs of where to get SUPER video encoder..... now it was my bad because I accidently called it SMART VIDEO CONVERTER in post 1.... So I posted the link to the download site - but I mean, its soooo easy to find certain stuff with google, and this case was one of them. I get TONS of people pm'ing me about firmware from the BB5 firmware update thread: I havnt even read that thread since page 30 or something like that... but I still try and reply to them with either a link or advice - I'm not trying to be a jerk or anything...

It drives me crazy to read a thread where post 3 will a link to a file, and post 9 will be someone ASKING for that link

Bottom line, there's a difference in a user who wants to participate in the project at hand, and a user who wants to be completely spoon fed the answers/solutions.

I'll repeat myself: I didn't direct any of this towards anyone specifically... I'm just venting a little having 23 pm's since YESTERDAY - almost all of which required ME to search for THEM.

Oh, well OK then, sorry for misinterpreting your post. I've seen your post all over the forum, and some of your opinions (even though I have barely posted on this forum) even helped me to make my decision of which phone I would buy. I got my N90 about a week ago.

OK, now going back on subject. You said you managed to make a very good conversion on SMART (sorry, I had to make a joke about that =D), and I'd like to know which configuration did you use to make it have a good FPS. As I said, I don't mind the file size, as long as the video has a good quality, it may even have the same size as the original.

Hm, no errors for me yet. I just converted a small clip (18 mbs) or so and the quality was very good. I'm encoding Advent Children now (700mb) so i'll see how that goes before i make further judgment.

Only complaint is the size of the file, but i have a 2gb card, so it's ok.

EDIT: The size is really bad. I was encoding a 700mb file and it ended up to be more than 1 GB, kept on going, froze my computer, and i had to restart.

Works pretty well converted Nacho Libre and qaulity is good. Is it normal it dosent show what is left in terms of duration for the movie?

Wirelessly posted (My toy: NokiaN80-1/3.0 (3.0617.0.5) Series60/3.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 UP.Link/6.3.0.0.0)

yeah. i got the settings pretty close with smartmovie, and the file size is still nice and small.

yeah but to be honest either the program has some bugs in it or my computer does. I noticed that with certain bigger files it would Error out because it would keep encoding endlessly till you run out of hard drive space...or just an error would occur...not exactly sure what I did wrong. I went and paid for smartmovie and to be quite honest it's WEAK! feel like I really wasted money compared to Super. Gonna be outta town this weekend ..really wanted to show off the splendor of my e61 while in Vegas. But i guess i might have to stick to the renaissance trailers..lol.
