Big Boi's solo debut is another thing that I think was way over-hyped by Pitchfork.

I don't know if good Pitchfork attention benefits rappers as much as it does with people like Sufjan Stevens though. I can't imagine the readership of Pitchfork is into hip-hop as much as it's into whimsical little baroque pop pieces.

Jay-Z's on it too? Ugh. Talk about a reverse selling-point.

I was going to check it out solely based on the fact that he was on it. But a friend of mine demanded that I buy into the hype just because of how excited he was for it.

His two verses repulsed me as can be expected, but I thought it was overall worth the listen.
