Pirates Preview the Nokia N95 (Video)

i think the 3.5mm jack is great, if its meant for multimedia use why not? all dap and pmps have them, not everyone wants to have to charge their headphones, or even bring them on road trips or traveling so having the option to use standard, superior quality headphones is pretty good if you ask me

I don't see how not having a 3.5 mm automatically means that you have to charge your headphones. Most music oriented phones have a port connector that has a 3.5 mm jack. It's not like you're not going to be able to use your standard headphones without having the jack directly on the device.

The PMP/DAPs have a 3.5 mm jack because their primary function is as a single device. They don't need their headphones to be able to accept/reject calls. As well, most advanced function headphones (even on DAPs/DMP's) connect to the port connector instead of the audo jack.

Dammit, if anybody can find it link it up! I wanna see! I didn't know the n95 has a locking slide, that's my one major complaint with my n80.

Wow?man I cant wait for this phone to come out?hmmm?.about the usb instead of popport, I think its better, cant wait to see what comes up for that usb connection, I think it would be possible to have a usb gamepad hooked up while the phone is connected to a tv, and having a ngadge game in the phone would be just like having a game system with you (http://www.allaboutsymbian.com/features/item/Nokias_Next_Generation_gaming_platform_the_future_of_N-Gage.php) I hope that would be possible.

Looks like only one person read post #30?hahaha yah I guess I was the only smart one to dl the .flv file?don?t worry ill give you guys the link?its converted into .avi, and is good quality? only thing its filefactory?

ya but then you have to carry the port connector with you, including the 3.5 mm jack just makes it easier to use regular headphones. I dont understand how you can dislike this feature, unless you really love using a port connector

That there are more than simple stereo (2-connector) 3.5mm jacks out there, check out the two bottom right ones:
http://www.calrad.com/calrad/cat-59page2.html
Two connectors could be used for stereo sound, one for mic, and one for tv-out.

Now -everybody- should be happy. IF nokia remembers the mic in there. Tech manufacturers all have the habit of forgetting a couple of minor, but crucial things in every cool device out there. A2DP comes to mind... good thing N95's got it! =)
I'm gunna get them new sony on-ear A2DP phones, with built-in mic... they look quite good, and don't have a plastic thinga-ma-jing behind the neck, but instead just a cord. =) Nice. Expensive, I bet, but nice.
