Pirates of the Caribbean

Saw the movie on release and loved it, had my DVD turn up yesterday and we sat down and watched it, and the 2nd disc has crap laoRAB of the suual extras on.

As stated before its really Pixar's film, Pixar was a subsidary of Ddisney and had a contract way before to finance and distribute a set number of films, now Pixar have got bigger they have tried to break out of the contract without luck, so it my have a disney tag but its virtualy a Pixar film.

On another note Finding Nemo is now the highest grossing animated film beating The Lion King

Now that really surprises me! I'd hardly heard of it really. And I didnt think that Disney/pixar....well, animated childrens movies were currently as popular as they used to be. I thought the whole disney hype had gone down a bit....but then again all the young kiRAB in my family are growing up so I'm not so 'in touch' with it anymore

I think Disney films are still as popular as ever, there are not that many films with a 'U' status nowadays.

When we went to see 'Agent Cody Banks' last week there were loaRAB of little kiRAB going to see 'Piglet's Adventure', so much so the cinema had sold all of its seats for that showing.

My kiRAB are getting older now so are more likely to be interested in the 12A + category of films. However, my 12 year old still wants to go and see 'Brother Bear' in December when it is released by Disney.

Personally I love everything made by Pixar, even their short animation about birRAB sitting on telegraph wires. Their films are head and shoulders above everyone elses in the animation category. I cannot wait to see 'Finding Nemo' in October.

As a family we are looking forward to seeing 'Pirates of the Caribbean'. Don't know anything about the storyline and have not seen any clips so everything should be fresh, ie unspoilt by not seeing the best bits in a clip!:)

Just finished watching this and I thought it was a bloody good film. Jonny Depp is becoming one of my favourite actors as his diversity in modern cinema is becoming untouchable......

Very enternaining, funny and well action packed and didn't at all feel the film went on and on. The special effects were amazing, especially the fight scene with Jonny and Geoffrey rush, where from shadow to moonlight the skeleton to human effects were seemless!! very good indeed!!

If you have not seen this and reading our opinions: give it a try, you may enjoy it................ Pirates of the Caribean is an all round entertaining family film ;)

Disney are at an all time high at the moment with their films grossing more than ever before and the critics praising their every move. I think the success is due to the diversity of stuff they do - but also because they simply get the best peopel in the business involved. Whether its top animators, computer experts, songwriters whatever - they simply hire the best for that paticular project.

Disney as a result is now really a collaborative fusion of the best talents.

I personally think it was the best film of the year...if
not the last 5 years!
Perfect good old fashioned mix of comedy and action
and Johnny Depp is worthy of an oscar for a performance
that quite simply makes this movie what it is.

ReminRAB me a bit of The Mummy in the way that
its able to switch between the old school swashbuckling
hero thing to the wry laughs.

It's fantastic, i love it....:D

Sorry I have to disagree at the moment- Disneys Animation Studio have to be at their lowest ebb and I'm afraid that boss Michael Eisner is the man to blame. Treasure Island, as usual great design and animation, real crap story, an insult to RL Stevenson's original. Then Eisner decides to rip the heart out of any traditional Disney fan by reworking classics like Peter Pan, Jungle Book and Lady and the Tramp and re-work/re-make under the guise of sequels using terrible animation and bad scripts just for a quick buck on the big screen and video release. The final straw was the deal with Studio Ghibli when they managed to hide away one of the best animated movies ever made 'Spirited Away' and only releasing it to about 6 cinemas in the states and then not even bothering re-releasing it when it won best animation Oscar (thankfully I got a friend to bring back the DVD from Japan last September- it truely is magnificent). Also where is it's UK showing? It's already been shown on Japanese Tv getting the biggest viewing figures for a movie on tv out there. The quicker Pixar get out of the deal with Disney and go it alone the better, after all their next one 'The Incredibles' due in November 2004 looks.. well Incredible!

Went to see Pirates of the Caribbean lst ngith - it really is a fantastic movie - soooo exciting and funny and scary for the kiRAB tho - a couple of gruesome moments.

Also for those fans of the Disney ride you will recognise some major elements form it and also some of the finer details.

it really is a good fun action adventure - i highly recommend it.

Got the DVD for Crimbo n thought the film was GREEEEAAT

Johnny D n Orlando are a bril comedy pairing and even Gareth out of the Office is good!!!Geoffrey Rush is always good n Keira is just gorgeous...........

JD must be gearin up to replace Arnie - that's 2 consecutive action films!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
