Pirate/Downloaded Films...

I've been known to download a film if i want to see what it's like. If I enjoy it, then I will go and buy the legit DVD.

If it's a new film however, nothing beats the cinema experience.

I am so fussy. I cannot watch a movie unless it has a perfect picture and sound. My friend has stopped copying films for me because I never watch them for the reason he says 'You are too fussy' :D

One way for the film industry to help out stopping piracy is to make the cinema experience more enjoyable.

I went to see Harry Potter with my wife and young 'un at the weekend. Tickets plus a small amount of popcorn and sweets-

When i was younger I remember an usher always stayed in during the whole movie - no talking, mobile phones, chavs drinking lager etc. I can't see why things have changed to let anyone get away with anything during a film.

I sat through Texas Chainsaw Massacre(beginning) with 3 kiRAB a couple of rows infront who smuggled cans of lager in, threw half eaten mcdonalRAB burgers at each other, one then preceeded to be sick all over the chair infront(which was empty luckily) not one usher/staff member came in and did anything.

I cant understand why we have HD tv, dvd players surround sound, then get crappy copies with little or no colour, drop outs, digitising picture, or ven better, camcorder copies with people moving about and talking.
complete waste of time for me

I never download films which have just been recorded in the cinema waste of time.

If I would like to see the film, I'll go to the cinema.

If the film is out on dvd but i'm not really fussed about watching it, I might download a dvd rip of it (which is perfect quality).

I downloaded 'the illusionist' not long ago, I watched it, thought it was ok but will never watch it again, so I don't really see the value of spending

Whats the point?
Dont go to the cinema any more because the film gets spoilt by people with phones or talking.
Dont download because the quality isnt quite there yet and no extras.
And you only need to wait 6 to 8 months to buy the DVD. Or wait anoth 3 months to get it for

I will be completly honest.

I use torrent sites to download everything, from heroes to Lost, Harry Potter to South park. I know its wrong but its easy and free, sorry, but I refuse to pay 6 quid to sit with a load of nasty chavs.

Ive recently got my hanRAB on DVD quality copies of Die hard 4.0, The Simpsons and Harry potter OOTP.

Im not daft, I know they are trying to slow down speeRAB and track people down, unluckily for them there are many programs which can be used to stop them doing this.

Do not download ANYTHING with out Peerguardian, if you dont have it, get it.

To be honest, every single exuse put out there by the "people" who advocate downloaded/pirate films, can be summed up in one word. Laziness,"ooo it's too expensive" "it's uncomfortable" "people talk" "I feel ripped off" wah wah bloody wah you sound like a bunch of children who have been spoilt by your parents and would rather break the law (even if it's i nthe privacy of your own home it's still illeagal) than do the honest thing, and pay real money for a real experience.

Are you people all really so greedy that you have to see EVERY film out at the cinema each month and can't possibly limit your choices to 1, so decide that wasting money on DVRAB from that pikey in the pub, or download them!

Put it this way, most people who "prefer" to watch illegal copies either download or buy them. here's a question how much are those "qualiteee" dvd's you buy, each?

i dont go to the cinema, the reason i cant get a refund for wasting anything up to 3hours of my life watching a rubbish movie, i do download movies and watch them then delete them, then if its good i go and buy the original, now im buying some movies that ive got on dvd on blueray.

if i buy a car and it doesnt perform like they say i can take it back,
if a product i buy doesnt work i get a refund,

if i got to the cinema to watch.... a must see
the years hottest movie
the funniest movie for years

and the movie is none of the above then it is the film industry who has ripped me off.

pirate copies all over the net? justice

I went to see Hairspray at the cinema, loved it and was so happy when I found someone in my local shopping centre selling pirate copies of it :D He literally was standing there in the centre just handing the covers of all his films out to look at and if we wanted one he would get it from his rucksack.

I was desperate to see it again and it wasn't expensive so I was prepared to take the chance and surprisingly the quality is ok - not great but not bad either - I can see and hear everything. At one point there's a random person standing up in the cinema but he soon sits down lol.

Anyway my point is I was absolutely amazed how easy it was to get one in the local centre and that it worked :D My computer isn't very reliable to download big films like that so it was good for me!

I have a reason, as discussed in a lecture.

If we continue to go to the cinema and watch Hollywood movies which are tripe then we continue to line the pockets of the mass profit studios who will continue to churn out rubbish sequels and the same film re-branded 4 or 5 times over.

If they are downloaded, and then bought or watched at the cinema as a second view. Then only the actually decent films make a profit. Arthouse/lower budget films get more of a chance to get made and viewed, and the Hollywood system finally cowers and starts producing decent quality film again.

Ah well, we can but dream.

As for TV as some people have mentioned it. If there was similar systems for download as they have in the US or a pay system. I'm sure a lot of people would pay for early access to Lost, Prison Break, 24 etc.
4OD and BBCi have our ISPs shaking that they can't cope - so obviously people want that service which has paid items available.
