PIPES - Tell Me

OK, I have an 09 Ultra and I am ready for some new pipes. I have the Jack Pot slip on pipes now, (two years old) and although they perform well, they are too mellow for me. I want some large diameter pipes as the smaller one's look too small with the new fat tires on the new touring scooters. I am looking hard at the new Rinhart 4" slip on's, but want to get it right. I like the look of the V&H Monsters, but again too mellow sounding for me. So there you have it, I want large diameter pipes, louder than V&H Monsters, but not drag pipe loud (obnoxious police attention getters) Are there better choices than Rinehart 4" pipes? Sound off please....

I just put some V&H Twin Slash Round Slip-ons on an '08 Road King. Don't know if they're better than the Rineharts or not. I believe they might be a little louder. Definitely not as mellow as the monster ovals though. I am very happy with them.

JMO...Had a set of Bub Jugg Huggers on my Vrod, 2:2, & they are extremely loud, obnoxious loud (didn't bother me...lol). Rode a 2008 Street Glide with Rineharts 2:2 & thought they sounded pretty good. A little louder than mellow when cruising then real good when opening up the throttle. I just installed a set of V&H's Pro Pipes 2:1 & think they sound fantastic! Greaet sound when cruising, almost as loud as the Rinehart's. The Pro Pipe sounds much deeper & meaner & even better when opening up the throttle.

The Bub's made EVERYONE look. The Pro Pipes make only those who know, look. Good luck!

On a 1-10 scale, with V&H MO being 1 and drag pipes being 10.... where are they? I also would like to ask where you would place normal V&H slip on pipes which are a tad louder than monsters. maybe they would be a 3 on this scale. Where are the Rinehart 4"? Thanks for your input.

I don't run Rineharts so it is difficult for me to say where they would be placed on the scale. I would guess 6 or 7. A lot of it has to do with your throttle hand as well.

I just swapped out my Jackpot's for a true dual setup from Freedom Performance - they are loud. Not obnoxious loud but you definitely know they're there. I scored mine from Eastern Performance at a super price.

I love the sound of my Bub 7 True duals, but a new build I plan on doing will require the use of a 2-1 I am thinking of the D&D Fatcat Boss 2-1. "HiJack", how do these compare to the bub's?

I just got a set of Rush slip-ons with 2.25" baffles off of ebay for $175........ took a gamble as I'd never heard them, just peoples comments on them...... by far the deepest exhaust sound I've ever heard...... at cruising speeds they're not obnoxious but they are pretty loud when you get on it......
