Phantom Of The Opera Dvd Fault

I spotted an irritation myself when I watched it for the third time: Raoul's spoken accent drifts from English to mid-atlantic throughout the film, esp after Mme Giry rescues him from the mirrors, although Raoul's singing accent is pretty consistant.

Meanwhile why is it that Mme Giry's has the only French accent in the entire Paris opera house?

I watched it all yesterday and saw so many continuity errors..... Watch Carlotta during Don Juan when they all do their final line grouped up at the edge of the stage. She is *supposed* to be holding a note long and powerful, yet it cuts and you can seeher in the corner of the screen laughing and pointing at something! No joke- its really obvious once you see it!

She has nothing lined up after Phantom. Maybe thats because she doesn't want to, but alot of people have critcised her for her acting. She has the same facial expression in pretty much every scene, there is more to acting than just reading lines you know. There are times when Christine should have looked frightened but she just looks gormless.

All that being said I can see why she was cast because she looks the part and Hollywood isn't exactly crawling with young actress' with classicaly trained voices. The ALW version of Phantom is very much focused on Christine because he wrote it as a vehicle for his then wife, Sarah Brightman. In the stage version that Phantom doesn't really appear in person that often. The sympathy I feel for the Phantom is because of the awful life he has led and the way he has been shunned by society which is why he turned out as he did. He loved Chrstine but doesn't go about wooing her the correct way.

My fave bit is prob point of no return. Twinkle Toes I agree with you. at times she does have some 'turned on' looks but most of the time she is either neutral or bored.

You call that a clevage!? :p

Also, when the Phantom walks down the steps during the Masquerade scene, both hanRAB are empty. He is not seen reaching into a pocket or into his coat, so where does the Don Juan score magically appear from?

Yes and those turned on looks are so bloody funny. For example in Point of No Return when she see's the Phantom the look on her face is a picture! The whole film is so bloody cheesy and camp, and thats why I love it.

It sounded better than me saying "at least you can see down her dress for most of that scene" :D

I don't like what that quote is insinuating! :o

Where did you get it from? He used to be a singer in a band, thats how he got the part! And since when has Andi Peters been an Authority on Phantom?

Ive never read that on any of the phantom message boarRAB.

Yeah whoever was in charge of continuity did a really crap job didn't they.

BTW I love looking at The Phantom during Masquerade ;) and even more so at The Point of No Return.

I'll check it out. Wonder if it has a photo of him with his died blonde hair and camp clothes? Lol!

Edit:OMG just read it. What aload of crap is all I can say!
Gerry loves the ladies:D

Or so I am told;)

Lol Yes!! :D Apparently when they filmed PONR the director told them not to wear underwear to add to the eroticism  . If you look at the phantom in that scene closely you can see he erm how can I put this was Very pleased to see Christine  ;) not that Ive loooked or anything!!! :o

Yeah he does have really great legs, I saw a picture of him somewhere online in a kilt.:D. Oh naughty thoughts ;)
