...they can speak, but:? It seems in Asia, that pointing and staring at someone from another country is a group activity. Why is that? Why is there not any concept of it being rude? They talk about you as you are standing there even if you understand their language or they are speaking English? And they don't seem to care if the comments are kind or disparaging. Why?
 
It's can also be a Western cultures thing. For example, in Spain it would be rude to point and stare....but staring is absolutely commonplace and not considered to be rude.
 
different countries have diff conepts of behavior as in the US an other north american countries we perfer to talk about ppl with out recognition as coutersy to thatperson where as they don care to do so an dont to much mind if you see or hear them teeaching an beliefs are very different
 
It appears that they have no shame when it comes to foreigners. Also, they point and laugh maybe because we are ignorant of their cultures and ways, and look funny; (yes, i've been to Asia). Or perhaps they just don't like tourists, and they think of us as intruders.
