I thought this was generally very well done. Probably could do with a little more tightening at the start but really quite different from what we usually get.

This is certainly one for those that found The Blair Witch scary (which I did) as it's more about your imagination filling in the blanks. If slashers and gore are your thing that this will probably be a fairly dull ride for you.

The parts mentioned above are excellent and really freaked me out. I've come away from the movie feeling edgy. It's not fast paced as I think quite a number won't like that.

Not overly keen on the ending (I think I saw the screener version) as
killing them both seemed a bit of a quick way to wrap it up. I think it'd have prefered a more ambiguous end
 
That's what I read - but I managed to actually avoid reading any actual spoilers so I don't know what happens.

And I want to keep it that way !!
 
The film is definitely best watched at the cinema, you hear a lot more than what you do watching the screener copy at home. There are also extra parts added in that I don't recall seeing in the screener version either. I think personally I preferred the original ending as I didn't feel like I had to see the 'monster' but it was scary.
 
I think this film seemed scarier than it was because it played on our 2 basic fears: It was set in a hous & the events occurred at night when they were sleeping & it was supposed to be based on true events.
 
I loved it! I was terrified by the night scenes, every time "night x" came up on the screen I was covering my eyes. The scariest bit was the ending (cinema) where you hear her walking up the stairs and you know what's coming.
 
Watched this yesterday and didn't realise how much it scared me until afterwarRAB when I was walking about the house and having to switch all the lights on!

The scariest parts for me were:

When she was dragged from bed down the hallway and the door slammed:eek:

Also

When she was standing in the room looking at the bed for 3 hours straight!

Overall good movie but unfortunately I don't think a lot of people will 'get it' because the majority want to see what is causing the haunting.
 
The people who say they weren't scared of this film probably watched it in the daytime or with the lights on. I watched it in darkness on my own at 1am and trust me, it messes with your mind!
I wish I had gone to the cinema to see it first. I think its one of the best I've seen in years
 
Oh, here we go...now we have tv adverts for the movie that show 'ordinary' people watching the movie at home in the dark, and jumping, being shocked etc at key moments caught on camera.

I can't believe people still fall for such cheap, tatty sales techniques.

I could get the same effect by walking up behind you and shouting 'BOO' and filming it.
 
Just got back from seeing it. I thought it was really well made but it didnt make me jump.
Though the girls I went with jumped alot.
I quite wanna see the other ending now. I thought the one we just saw was a tad cheesey
the whole creepy face and launching toward the camera just seemed a little bit off par from the rest of the film.
Still really enjoyed it though.
 
I really liked it but made the big mistake of letting my 13yr old son watch it, it scared the shit out off him.

Katie by the way has a fine set of boobs.
 
Wow, this film has certainly got the Marmite affect. Have to admit, i didn't find it at all scary, but thought the director did well with the obvious tiny budget.

Got interesting reactions from the audience i was in. A lot of people were shouting 'boo' at the person next to them -which may have been their biggest scare of the evening. ;)

I sat next to what i thought was a hip, streetwise, hoodie-wearing youth when i went. Turned out to be the biggest wuss in the cinema - he actually pulled his hoodie up halfway through because he was so scared! I've never seen someone jump out of their seat during a film. It really does take all sorts.

Good review here if you're still not sure.
 
just watched it it was OK.

few creepy parts alright but i dont think its a film i would watch again and again.

purely a film of the moment feel to it for me.

was a funny bit when
the old man just got into the house and had to leave straight away cause the demon was angry GOD! well he HELPED! ha

also the DVRABcreener ending is alot better IMO.

That's the only one i've seen. TBH i thought it was the worst movie i have ever seen... ever... yep, ever. No scares, cliched, jumps came from the music and sound FX, weak acting, weak script, weak ending (haven't seen the others - not sure i want to). Dull, dull, dull. If i'd have paid for that i'd have asked for a refund AND compensation!
 
Have to agree the screener ending (which is the 2007 film festival version) is much better and more in keeping with the film, the 2009 release is out more of a hollywood ending, made for Americans.

the way the guy is thrown and she walks in then attacks the camera is so shock value its laughable, really should have left it alone
