Paranormal Activity

For me the film completely lived up to the hype and absolutely terrified me. Loved watcing it in a packed cinema and everyone screaming and laughing together.
Although one guy had to be asked by staff to turn his phone off - he was constantly on facebook. Whats the point of paying nearly a tenner to watch a film and then spending it on your phone! Facebook will still be there when you get home!

I screamed at the ending, but the main scene which had everyone going was the bit where she got dragged. It scared me loaRAB because I thought she was just gonna get pulled onto the floor and then wake up, not get dragged out and when the door slammed I so thought it was gonna be locked!

It was also really creepy on the final night the way Katie sat up in bed and then stood up and watched him for hours on end. I knew when she went downstairs the screaming was gonna be to lure him down! And then the footsteps and the pause and him getting thrown at the camera everyone in the cinema screamed at that!

Someone earlier said that the none cinema versions explain better why
she kills Micah
what happens in those that explains it in more detail?

ps. I did have to sleep with the light on :o

Tried to go see this last night after looking forward to it for months, but couldn't as it was sold out. I expected/hoped that the majority of people there would be sorely dissapointed, so I'm pleased to hear this!

I think the problem is if you make a trailer that appeals to morons (sample quote from people ahead of us in the queue "what's it about?", "it's a horror, ont advert the people watching it wor proper sh***ing it, it's proper scary"), but a film that doesn't, you're bound to have dissapointment! At least they'll get a new Saw film next Halloween to make up for it :D

Makes me sad for my lost youth really; 10 years ago I think I'd have enjoyed Paranormal Activity but now it just bored me. C'est la vie.

I Loved it, the whole Cinema seemed to be a bit "meh" at the opening, but I think it was after night 3 that the cinema went into complete hush of anticipation and the atmosphere really built and built and built, especially when
The happenings took place in daytime and it was sort of anything goes, you could have heard a pin drop in the audience

I really think with the cinema viewing, it completely depenRAB on what kind of fellow audience members you have. As I say the entire cinema sat in pure silence when ever "Night #X" appeared on screen and it really played into the atmosphere built on screen, My friend went to the earlier screening and text me before I went in saying "It's crap, not scary at all" and then when I text her afterwarRAB saying I thought it was brilliant she said everyone in her viewing was just sitting taking the P*ss out of it, adding their own sound effects.

I love horror movies, the majority of my Movie DVRAB are horror/thrillers, randing from Hills Have Eyes and Saw, through Scream and I know what You Did Last Summer Trilogies up to The Orphanage and Ils, and to be honest the majority don't really scare me but this one really freaked me out. And I am 100% dismissive of all things psychic and Ouija Board related, so many parts just made me jump.

When Katie was first possessed and just stood at the bottom of the bed (Before she walked outside and sat on the swing) did anyone else notice the shadow on the door moving before she did? Almost leading her, my friend I was with didn't notice but I did, or at least I think I did, anyone spot it or am I imagining things?

I thought the scream was Katie herself bursting out of the possession to call Micah for help? He was asleep so the demon could have just taken the knife (I'm assuming the one Micah used at the start to demonstrate what he would do to the demon) upstairs and killed him. I thought Katie fought the demon for control of her own body to call for help, and the screaming before Micah arrived was her fighting the Demon within her? Also her face in the scene directly prior, where she said "We'll be safe here now" in the sort of dual voice, the smile and sort of face distortion really really freaked me out!

POSSIBLE SPOILERS!

I watched this on DVD a few nights ago and I have to say I was pretty disappointed overall. There were a couple of creepy moments but it was nowhere near the scariest movie of the past decade.

For me there were two big probelms with it. Firstly prior to an appearance by the demon there was that deep rumbling noise. It felt like it was a cue for something strange or creepy to happen. It would have been so much more effective having to view that bedroom in complete and utter silence and then bang! After hearing that noise you were ready for something to happen. Second problem was the ending. When she crawls up to the camera and smirks I actually laughed out loud which ruined all the decent stuff I had seen beforehand. Tbh all 3 endings were quite weak - it just needed something with the wow factor.

I've just got back from seeing it at the cinema (2nd viewing) and while i did enjoy it, i felt that watching the screener by myself in my room with headphones on was a much better experience. It just seemed a lot more tense at home, but i suppose with this being my second viewing i guess that knowing what is coming kind of ruins it a bit.

I liked the cinema ending though, although the whole
Katie was never found
part blatantly screams "SEQUEL!", whereas the screener had more of a definitive ending.

Still, great film though :D

I thought it was quite creepy, i especially liked the bit where she was dragged from the bed.

I thought it was annoying though that the demon would turn the light on when he possessed her and turn it off when he left :p

I'm going to see it tomorrow on my own (is that sad?) Nobody else want's to see it so.....

The last film I went to see on my own was Scream 3 nearly 10 years ago :D

I saw this last night, and it really freaked me out - I had goosebumps at the end, and thinking about it now makes me shiver! Really enjoyed it as I love being scared!

Just watched the "cops" ending online, and have to say I think the ending I saw last night was much better. Would still like to see the original original ending tho....

Does the DVD contain the original screener ending, the one where

she kills him then walks up the stairs and sits at the bed rocking backwarRAB and forwarRAB for ages until the police turn up and shoot her

I saw it on Thursday night - thought it was quite boring, if I'm honest. I was expecting to be scared out of my mind, so I felt quite let down, and when it was actually on I wasn't really frightened at all.

Thursday night I ended up sleeping with the light on though. :o:o

have to agree,
seeing the shadow just scared me, and when you hear her say ' we we be safe now' in that demon voice scary,

everyone in the cinema today all jumped on que
