Pans Labyrinth

To be honest I thought this film was hideous, i really didnt like it. I was 'rather annoyed' that it didnt say anywhere in any of the literature in the cinema that it was subtitled, as I wasnt expecting it and it kinda put me off! I dont mind a subtitled film, aslong as i know thats what im getting!!
Think it was an overrated film!

Just saw this movie lst night and I loved it.
I did have to cover my eyes a few times and I was a bit disturbed by the cruelty but it wsa such an amazing film noone should let that put them off.
What a treat, something totally different, everyone should go and see this.

Wonderful film, full of interesting layers. Disturbing, moving, challenging....just the kind of thing that keeps you thinking. Very vivid images. This is certainly one of my best films of the year....and I don't normally like things with fantasy. But it works.

Extraordinary film, especially if you are aware of the events and politics of the Spansih Civil War preceeding World War II.

The imagery of the real and fairy worlRAB parallel each other, complement each other, and reflect the passions and fears of the Spanish Civil War in so many ways... I'd have to see the movie again several times, probably with a pause button, to begin to understand the double- and triple-meanings in the extraordinary vision of del Toro.

i aint very happy - i pre ordered it from hmv website - and it still hasnt come and its past thursday now!!!

i have seen it thou - and think its the most beautiful film ive ever seen. i would have cried in the cinema - but because im a man - i darent!

it was at the end when i felt the urge to wail - the lights were going on. i had to drive home with a lump in thou throat!!

Great film - just watched the DVD after reading this thread. Not what I expected though: I thought it would be more LOTR meets Alice in Wonderland fantasy. There was just as much of the violent real world storyline. Both were seamlessly interwoven and well-thought out.

It looked like it would stand up to being re-watching several times. http://www.panslabyrinth.co.uk/

I got the DVD for mother's day from my son :) So excited. Now I just have to make hubby watch it as he didn't come to see it in the cinema :)

Best film I've seen in ages. The workings of a child's troubled mind to escape the horror of reality. Real tear-jerker.

Thought the scene stealing the grapes from the banquet, very "Jason And The Argonauts". The creature with the plug-in eyeballs has to be one of the creepiest creations of modern horror.

I'm not usually interested in fantasy type movies of this genre, but have to say I was very impressed with this film. The acting was superb, especially Mercedes' part.

All in all a great film, but the graphic violence was very surprising for the rating that this film got.

Oooh! Wasn't it just! I was literally screaming at the TV for her to shift it up a gear and hurry up outta there! Creepy as hell! Even my super-tough BFF, who loves horror movies had her hanRAB over her eyes and was yelling!

Luckily though, it was not too scary that you couldn't admire it in all it's grotesque glory at the same time! It's a warped mind that conjured that one!
