Overnet Lite

yeah, forget about previewing til you have the first few chunks of it, the best way to see what youre downloading is to expand the downloads view, so you can see the sources, and look at the filenames on the users that have 100% of the file.

EDIT If you have the first chunks of a file you can drag the ###.part file onto AVIpreview to view it (if it's a video format)

1. Hmm, Strange.
2. My fault, I forgot that it was made with the Windows XP registry editor.
3. If you don't get the error you said you got, then it worked. Incl. the "Register" button is there because it is not registered (Overnet Pro) without the Pro.dll file, but Overnet will still work 100% fine without it.

i know in edonkey if you set "options>advanced>old slyle part files" you can switch back to emule to finish them.
since overnet and edonkey are basicly the same program with different UI it should be about the same. :-)
 
I was using overnet when i got this 'blarul' virus,i cleaned my entire system & then had to reinstall overnet-lite cuz the .exe file was gone.After i installed the lite version the same thing happened.

What can i do?

Well KaZaA really can't be improved much for several reasons.
  • Its Based On FastTrack
  • Sharman Bought KaZaA Only In Order To Make Money
  • eDonkey/Overnet Accepts New Developers Outside Their Company
  • eMule Is Opensource, And There Are A Lot Of Modded Versions Out There
  • The Method The eDonkey based applications finds files
There you are, why not just forget KaZaA, It can't be saved. I've used eDonkey based applications for 2 years now, and from what I've seen, KaZaA is pretty much dying while the others are pretty much living.

anyway i got the link from searching in this forum,

i transffered all my files from emule to overnet and it started downloading too,but sometimes i get a message ur client is leeching (disconnected)

although there r 15 people always uploading from me

just started using overnet i must say it looks good and is easy to use however i am not getting great speeds, just reasonable.

but at least i got to download simpson hit and run bin and cue's which i could not get off kazaa.

ps any tips on how to improve speed.
my pc spec is win xp inc sp1 amd 2400 with 512ram with a 60gig h/drive

i do run sygate firewall including xp's own.

not changed any of the default options apart from shared folder

just one more question is there any security worries in using this software ie the law getting my id and files and such. are there any pluggins i could use to fill the gaps if any
 
I got Overnet Lite 0.52 (nice work Tmpj, btw) after I enter my SOCKS5 proxy configuration and restart it i get the program crash "send error report" screen in win XP. :helpsmile:
