are there any countries that cook a lot more without meat, dairy, or eggs? don't chinese/japanese live primarily off fish and a veggie diet? what about indian food.

i really haven't looked into the foods of any other culture, but i was wondering so maybe i could try eating out at a few restaurants.

any other cultures that are more geared toward a vegan diet?

Indians traditionally live off a vegetarian diet, but with lots off dairy Im afraid.

The Chinese traditionally eat a meat diet, but with no dairy and very little egg, as well as not that much meat.

There are buddhist monks in the far east that have eaten vegan diets for centuries, so it's there diet you want to look for.

Pretty much the only meat that is eaten in japanese cooking is seafood, but that has changed now.

Good cultures to base your cooking off as a vegan include Indian, mexican, far eastern and African. They are all quite easy to veganize and taste great when they are.

Indians are mostly vegetarian (although you wouldn't know judging by the restaurants you see in the US), they are not generally vegan though and most dishes (if high quality) will contain butter or ghee, so they're definitely not vegan.
