The only reluctance to atheism I ever showed was in discussing my lack of
belief from when I was about 14 to the time I left home for uni. I've never
owned a firearm.

At some point some President will try to ignore the term limits and stay
in office. With any luck my grandchildren will have died of old age by
then. But the US government has long since become more onerous than the
British crown was when the colonists revolted. Both freedom or
tolerance and control or taxation are moving targets. In the US we have
gradually traded improved freedom and tolerance (we are not moving
toward gay marriage) in exchange for greater regulation and taxation.

Does anyone have good Egyptian dishes? There's more to moral support
than wanting it to come out for the best but also not wanting to control
the outcome.

Why, yes! That would be very cool!
I've got plenty of work to do around here,
starting with the refrigerator.

No, we have enough donkeys already.

They don't cook up very well though. Maybe they would be better as tartare.

You've since figured out I don't like talking on the phone. Try posting
your political views to alt.politics or something similar.

OB Food: Swiss steak, mashed potatoes and fordhook lima beans.

Grow up, get over it, and post something about FOOD.

And the two of you should get a frackin' room for your private spats.

ObFood: ate a lot of delicious heritage pork yesterday during my class
at The Fatted Calf in Napa - rillettes and charcuterie as "snacks", roast
loin for post-class lunch - and have kielbasa, rillettes, and a brisket
brining for corned beef in the fridge. Meals today are going to be
light.

LOL Mr. Control Freak. You first.

LOL again. Stay classy.

ObFood: unlike most of the US, it's actually warm-to-hot here. I'm going
to make enchiladas when it gets a little cooler.

Stay outta my face.

What's with this whole trend of usually nice ladies getting all
hostile and control freaky? Some sorta Superbowl Sunday resentment?
I don't do SB bullshit. I try and live and let live. I don't tell
you what to post or not post and expect the same consideration.

You wanna get all bitchy, bring it!!!

I was hoping to make enchiladas on Friday. My only glitch was while
I thought I had a half-bag of NM chiles in the house, this turned out
to be not the case. I will not be swinging by my chile source until
this coming thursday.

Enchiladas are trivial... easiest dish in the world, if you have the chiles.

Whoa. That's some serious short-term memory loss and disconnect between
self-perception and actions there, dude. It's pretty bad.
Sheldon-level bad. I'd suggest seeking competent professional help for
whatever issues it was that caused that. Dumping on random strangers or
semi-strangers on RFC is not gonna help you out, and it certainly doesn't
help the community out.

ObFood: The enchiladas appear to be turning into a (minor) saga. I had
meetings in the evenings after work so was doing tasks in pieces. I
grated the cheese on Monday. Yesterday in the morning I roasted asparagus
and left the pan out. My intent was to come home from my Tuesday meeting
and assemble. Unfortunately when I got home last night the asparagus -
which was perfectly roasted when I left - looked yellow and shriveled.
Retained heat? Extra-warm kitchen? I dunno. The resting spot was quite
sunny, the day was warm, and I left in on the pan. Obviously
not a S-M-R-T move on my part. So the farm-box spinach is being pressed
into service. I was going to make a pie with it but whatevs. I might
try making some with roast butternut squash as well (the farm box has been
providing me a lot of squash lately).

The asparagus or spinach enchiladas are based on a favorite special from a
local Cal-Mex place; filling is cheese, black beans, and the veg,
container is corn tortillas, enchilada sauce is green. Asparagus in
season, spinach other times of the year. (For locals: Christopher's
Nothing Fancy Cafe in Albany, across from UC Village.)

George W. Bush remains the most protested-against political leader
in human history, far outsizing any anti-Mubarak protests.

Still didn't help.
