Our economy and country lives and dies by the moves our large banks make.

but I would more count on North Korea going into chaos without Beloved Great Leader and his cronies.
You might find a sensible few who would actually work with South Korea and I'll bet you'll find a flood of North Koreans heading for the southern border.

it's not a matter of US picking a fight, it's US and other nations swooping in to save the day.

It would be a problem until South Korea's economy grew to accommodate them. The market would sort itself out so to speak. You also have the added benefit of opening up North Korea to investment.

Chinese companies have done it all over Africa. Where the west was stupid and gave the Africans handouts in the name of humanitarian aid, the Chinese were smart and rebuilt industry and gave the Africans the tools to improve themselves rather than subsist on handouts.

I remember reading that a lot of the government control is with high ranking military officials or something, not sure if there is any truth to that, but it will suck if N Korea is liberated from the crazy gvnmt they have now and end up with some other corrupt, fucked up military dude who loved KJI
