One could make an argument against that. Look at Paul Prudhomme who
has been morbidly obese all his life and is still kicking after 70 yrs
of cooking/eating his way to fame. That dude was sooo fat, he could
barely stand.
Perhaps this River guy had been fed antibiotics all his life and when
it came time for some serious need, re: pnuemonia, they no longer
helped. This has become a serious problem, in recent years. We're so
loaded up with pharmaceuticals, anymore, nothing comes as a surprise.
Between the food and the drugs, we're almost walking corpses.
But yes, we do eat too much. One of my favorite comics, Greg Giraldo,
recently died, much like Brittany Murphy, of prescription drug
overdose. Ironic that one of his bits was about how much Americans
eat and how obsessed with food we are. He jokes about edible panties
as an example. "Edible panties! How much do we obsess about eating",
he asks, "when even during sex we can't get our minds off food."
Sorry we lost you so young, Brittany, Greg, and Blair.
