Orion xt 8 ( base from my earlier quest about telescope )?

I did research ealier and I think I will save on top of my $200 to get the Orion xt8. the reviews are great. Thanks for answering my first question. I really do appreciate it.

I also realize I will need filter or what ever that is to protect my eyes, any suggestion and or maps ?

Has anyone travel with a telescope by air transportation ? is it allowed ?
