Orion Shorty Plus Barlow lens worth the money?

I'm planning to invest in a barlow lens. I don't plan on using it for deep sky objects, mostly for lunar and planetary observing. I was wondering if the regular shorty barlow would do the job or is it really worth paying twice as much for a 3 element fully multi-coated shorty plus?
 
What eyepieces are do you have? My inclination would be to forget about Barlows for the planets in favour of dedicated planetary eyepieces. Any additional layers of glass reduce contrast even with high-tech coatings. However, without knowing more it is difficult to give a firm recommendation. The Shorty Plus is a well respected Barlow lens though.
